“So glad I found it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2011

I stayed at Willow Cottage a few weeks ago and was made very welcome! Although it's a bit difficult to find (at the end of a long drive), I would highly recommend this B&B. It's clean, very comfortable, the breakfast is 'to die for' and nothing's too much trouble for Julie and Harvey. Thank you both SO much! xx

It was worth missing our flight last Friday due to the A1 being closed to discover this gem. Beautiful building, interiors and view. My husband booked us in in at the last minute but we were made very welcome. Julie and Harvey went out of their way to help us print off boarding passed for our new flight the next morning.

Breakfast was fantastic, beds really comfortable. Would highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast.

We had an evening meal at the Tut and Shive, just down the road which was excellent value also.

A delight!

We stayed for one night this weekend having dropped our daughter off at university. I am glad we chose Willow Cottage because we had a really enjoyable stay, if only for one night.

We missed the entrance because it is a gate in a wall. That was because we were looking on the wrong side of the road. There is a sign, so just look for this near the end of Ivegate. When you find Willow Cottage, you will be glad you did.

We received a very warm welcome from Julie who showed us to our lovely room. The photograph does give your a good idea of the high standard of the rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed the comfort of the room having carried many possessions into our daughter's university house. Definitely well appointed.

If you like cats, you will love Julie and Harvey's three cats. They are friendly and even obedient when told to stay out of the breakfast room. I have never seen a cat do as it is told before.

Breakfast was as good as any that I have had anywhere. I have stayed in a number of B&Bs that pride themselves upon providing a good and varied selection at breakfast. Willow Cottage joins the ranks of the best. There was a choice of cereals, fruit and yoghurt, muffins and fruit bread, various cooked breakfasts and a large selection of jams, preserves and marmalades.

During breakfast, my daughter phoned to ask if I knew where her white tac was hiding. On the way out, Julie very kindly gave us some to give to our daughter. That shows you the care that they put into their hospitality.

Will I stay there again? Definitely.

We stayed here for 1 night in August as we were attending a friends wedding reception which was based about 5 minutes away. The couple that run the bed & breakfast are very welcoming & run a lovely warm b&b. Both myself and my fiancee are big cat lovers so we were thrilled to meet the three residence cats. The twin room we were given was very spacious & had a stunning bathroom, we especially loved the big bath! Breakfast was brilliant, had everything you wanted & more! Wish we had an extra night & if we ever visited Leeds again this will definitely be our first choice.

We stayed here as attending our sons graduation at Leeds Met. We could not of asked for a more perfect B&B. Julie and Harvey have a beautiful home with a lovely garden. All the bedrooms are decorated with great care and attention to detail. This attention continues with the dressing gowns and Molton Brown bathroom products.

On our arrival we were given a warm welcome by Julie and made to feel very at home. The breakfast was wonderful.... Wished we could of stayed longer !

We would not hesitate to recommended Willow Cottage to any of our friends and family. Looking forward to our next stay.

Julie and Harvey , Thank your for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: All the rooms are very nice !

I stayed here for a very short trip over my birthday. I had such a lovely time. Harvey and Julie keep Willow Cottage so clean and welcoming that it was a pleasure to head back after a day out sightseeing and shopping.

The hosts have managed to find the best happy medium between B&B and boutique hotel.

The bedroom was beautifully decorated, a nice flat screen tv, well-stocked tea tray, Molton Brown bathroom goodies and soft white dressing gowns. The outlook over the garden was just lovely to wake up to, and watching the cats stalk pidgeons in the garden and then come into the guests' living space and snuggle up to you on the sofa was just delightful!

The breakfast was perfect - fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals and then a delicious cooked dish to follow. It makes my mouth water jusy reminiscing about it!

I am already trying to think of excuses to go back to Willow Cottage ... and for such a reasonable rate per night, I don't think it even needs to be a good excuse!

Room Tip: They're all great
