I have visited Terraza de la Tierra a couple of times, at different seasons, both when the sun was high and everything was dry and starving for water and at the end of the rain season where everything was about to bloom and grow. It is a fantastic place where you spend most of your time outdoors all year. You get your meals either in the kitchen with the nice family who takes care of the ranch, or you have a delicious meal prepared in the outdoor kitchen. Organic vegetables, honey and eggs from the place, fruit from the big markets and nice mushrooms from the forest are transformed into wonderful dishes.
I have gone on walks in the mountains, sat and watched the horizon where mountains and sky change colours several times a day. Once it also ended up being a downhill trip, partly on horseback, all the way down to the coffee plants that, when they mature, are to become morning coffee, maybe here in Denmark, but definitely at the refuge. During the stay I visited the town of Miahoutlan a few times, an estimated 45 minute trip from the ranch. A larger city if you for a while crave something different than fresh air, calm and a scenery that is hard to describe..
I warmly recommend Terraza de la Tierra, both for just a few days of relaxation and for longer stays.
