“Guest house par exellence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2011

In the top two of guest houses we have visited. Very clean, Very homely, as soon as you walk in you feel at home. Julie and Stephen are superb hosts, and are always willing to go the "Extra Mile". The evening meal, when taken as an extra, cooked by Julie using where possible home produced vegetables etc. is well worth experiencing, excellent value. Full English (Yorkshire) breakfast is a last all day one. The dry cured local bacon is to die for. We had a front bedroom and never heard a sound

Room Tip: Front rooms are the quietest. It is said that Church Clock can be heard at the rear. We have no...

This is our second stay at Springfield House and Julie and her husband are very friendly and welcoming. This is a lovely spacious victorian house set in a splendid location. We went for the 1940s weekend and did the walk to Haworth (approx 1.5 miles). Lovely countryside. The steam train ride from Oakworth Haworth Station is a must. We paid a visit to Embers restaraunt in Haworth - great trendy place with excellent food.
We have already booked our next date to Springfield House and will be revisiting Embers Restauraunt.

This was our first hotel stay with our 2.5 year old son, and we were apprehensive about his behaviour, the welcome we would receive and the sort of place we would be staying. We need not have worried. The hosts are lovely people who aim to please, thier home is beautiful and so comfortable. The furnishings, toiletries and food were top quality and the garden a peaceful place to let off steam. Our son in turn was well behaved in the relaxed atmoshpere and enjoyed his stay. My only reservation in writing this review is that too many people find this hidden gem and there won't be space for us when we want to return!

We booked on the day via the tourist information in Howarth. It was a beautiful grand house. We recieved a warm welcomeas did our dog. The rooms were very spacious , very grand and exceptionally clean. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The breakfast was lovely as was everything about our stay. The location was excellent for touring the area and oxenhope is a lovely quaint village with a pub and a chip shop. We will definately be returning.
