“Amazing place, great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

I completely echo the previous reviews of Sofia and Cressida Cyrus. Clean, cheap and simple huts right near the beach, and Sofia was gracious and super helpful throughout our stay with train tickets, laundry etc. highly recommended

This was our best trip to Goa so far, and more than half the credit goes to the lovely place Cressida Cyrus run by the most graceful, sweet and ever smiling Sofia and her Husband. Our friend did the surfing before the trip, and we went by the review written by Gieg here, and it turned out to be exact. the huts might not look very different rom the others in the area, but whats different is the comfortable beds and clean bathrooms and the owner Sofia who makes you feel like guests in home stays. The place is just 20 or 30 secs walk from the beach, but suddenly walk into the green comfortable space, cosy as your own garden.

If you are planning to go there, please read the details give by Gieg above, and since there are 4 Cressida's, just go on the beach and ask for Cressida, and once you reach any cressida, ask for SOFIA, and you will reach the right one. and please avoid the restaurant/bar/shack of the same name on the beach, not that good.

Room Tip: there are 7 huts run by Sofia, insist on staying in those

We really enjoyed our stay at Cressida Cyrus. The grounds are nicely kept and the wifi access was really helpful for us. Our hut was spacious, and the fan and bed made for a comfortable night rest. We followed the directions on one of the other reviews which really helped us find Cressida. I have to comment on the owners who went out of their way and took us to the doctor after having a motorcycle accident. Great customer service!!! I would stay again if we go back!

This lovely place has changed our lives.... since our first stay here we will return for sure every year. The huts are made so you are comfy, private and amongst jungle covered beach.. pure bliss.

All the Palolem people are very friendly and particularly the family running Cressidacyrus Beach Huts... Very well looked after in a beautiful place!!!!

Can't recommend highly enough.

Room Tip: By the way, there is no pool or fitness centre but I bet if there was it would be great. All the ro...

First off, we are frequent contributors to TripAdvisor and after one day at Cressida Cyrus, we told Sofia and Anthony, the owners, “you have got to get on TripAdvisor.” And we helped them submit their data, upload pictures and promised to be their first review! We noticed that some existing positive TripAdvisor reviews sounded like their place but were posted under other “Cressidas”. We wanted Cressida Cyrus to earn their own unique reputation, so he goes….

Brothers of the Cressida family run four different businesses all having “Cressida” in the name. The best are the six bungalows of Cressida ”CYRUS” owned and managed by Anthony and Sofia.

The huts are tucked in a grove of coconut palms within a relaxing garden setting a minute walk to the beach front.

We stayed in “Luke” hut which has a relaxing patio with a pair rattan chairs, a small table, a swing chair, and a hammock. The front of each hut is almost all windows and inside is a spacious room with a concrete and tile floor, private bath with western toilet and cold water shower (hot bucket of water on request.) A ceiling fan over the mosquito netted bed kept us comfortably cool in the night. Sheets are clean and white, not always the case in India accommodations. With the free Wifi, it has everything we look for in a place to stay.

Anthony and Sofia checked on us and their other guests often and were sincerely interested our well-being.

They have created a congenial atmosphere and a beautiful tropical garden to look out upon. It is peaceful and far enough from beach and bar noise, yet only one minute walk to the beautiful broad beach with its bars and restaurants.

They have a shared refrigerator for guests to use. They also stock water and beer for guest convenience. The beer and water in the fridge goes on honor system, you mark it in the book when you take one.

Another big plus is that they have a security guard to keep an eye on the place at night.

One drawback: They have no signs to help you find the place! We needed to ask around which was difficult because the touts tried to take us to other places. To find it on your own, you enter Palolem Beach and reach the main shop-lined road after it begins to parallel the ocean front. Just as you reach the big yellow signs of “That Bar”, go 100 meters down the sandy path toward the ocean. Turn right just before entering the Café Del Mar restaurant property. You will be among a cluster of coco huts and you will still need to ask which huts are the Cyrus huts of Anthony and Sofia. If walking on the sandy beach, the Cressida restaurant is well signed and easier to find. The path on the left, by a meter tall cross, leads to Cressida Cyrus.

Phone numbers and pre-booking info is on their website: www.cressidacyrus.com. Peak prices listed are for Christmas to New Year. Now in February, we are paying near $15 per night for a multi-night stay.

We’ve driven to other Goa beaches and are very happy with our choice here of Palolem Beach for its cove situated beach, good restaurants, and village vibe.

Nearest ATM is in Chaudi, a few kilometers away and there are shops around the village that do currency exchange.

Room Tip: Huts 'John' and 'Julie' are set back, a bit more private, well huts "Mathew&quo...
