“Nothing Special!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2012

Antulang Beach Resort is 40kms away from dumaguete city, transportation will set u back at 1100 pesos one way.

Once you arrived at the hotel, it looks nothing special, as it is very simple, we stayed in their regular cabanas which is really a small room with a tv ,aircon and no ref. the only good thing on the room for me is their shower pressure.

The breakfast that comes with it is quite good, but the dinner we have is so so, i ordered a bulalo steak that comes with rice, the bulalo taste like it has been reheated for several days and steak sauce was just added on it. the Bulalo meat itself has no taste at all. My family had their tenderloin steak and fish which were good.

Staff service is quite good on the restaurant side but can't say that about their front desk.......

The only good thing is their pool, but it looks old too, anyway first n last visit for me there. Next resort please.......

Antulang Beach resort is an hour's drive from the city of Dumaguete. Just spend a night there as it was the venue for our high school grand reunion. The resort has very big swimming pools, a mini zoo, a library, bars and restaurant. Rooms are clean and bathrooms have the necessary amenities. The staff are very attentive and helpful, greeting each guess with a smile. Their beautiful owner, Ms Lee, was personally present to attend to the smallest details to make our stay a most pleasant one. They offer kayaking, cruise around Tambobo bay (which is really beautiful especially during sunset), diving and horseback riding. Food in the restaurant is reasonably priced and very delicious. Hope to be back there again in the near future.

Room Tip: Deluxe cabana rooms are great for budget conscious traveller, great if you can get the pool villa as...

We went to Antulang to attend a friend's wedding. Unfortunately, it was raining hard so we were not able to explore the beach and try out the adventurous activities they offer. The infinity pool and the bar beside it is a cool place to hang out. Although, the music they play at the bar is a little dated, the service was fine. The room we got is a little small with no ref but it felt cozy and homey. We did try to go down the beach and we were amazed with the connecting stairs, walkways and cemented coves at the side (the resort is on top of a hill). To bad we were impeded by the trashing waves but that's part of the adventure. We had fun at the resort. The staff were friendly and the food was ok. Perhaps its the general happy atmosphere of the wedding that kept our spirits up despite the storm. Another good thing about the resort was the space so it felt like we had the whole pace for ourselves. However, the drive from Dumaguete City is long and the rent of van is expensive. it would have been better if they included the transfer as part of their package.

The cliff top location of this resort is spectacular. The complimentary shuttle ride from Dumagete airport was bumpy near the end. But the provincial scenery and grazing animals was very interesting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. Our private jacuzzi tub had a great ocean view. We ate our surprisingly good complimentary cooked to order breakfasts at the bar. The bar enjoys a fabulous view of the huge infinity pool and the ocean. Be sure to order the fresh Buko juice (in the shell coconut juice). We enjoyed dinner in the dining room with great classic Philippine dishes like crisp pork lechon, garlic rice and pancit rice noodles. They have an aviary and a very friendly monkey named Zha zha who loved the sliced tomato and cucumber garnish they served with breakfast. The Resort offers a very reasonably priced catamaran trip around the nearby bay. For a little more you can go to Aptos Island one of the best locations in Asia for diving and and snorkeling.
The only suggestion we had was our bed sheets and blankets were tucked in too low. We had to loosen them from the foot of the bed.

Room Tip: See if the presidential suite (on a rock) is avail

After driving for 5 hours, we thought our stay will be a memorable one. But only to find out that it's a trip not worth of the time and money spend.
Antulang management should make an effort to trained their staff. It's not enough to reason that it is high season and they are understaff. Imagine your guest coming from a far place , hungry and tired? It took as almost an hour just to check in and the worst is 2 hours to wait for the food to be serve at the restaurant.

There are newer, more modern, good food and service near by and this pace does not justify a 30 minute drive inwards toward the sea just to get lousy accommodations and food. The place would have been great with the surf and views and the 2 pools. The water closet didn't work and when we complained, nothing was done about it. Our A/C was not cooling and when we checked th filter, it was dirty and we had to ask them to clean it. The lavatory drain was broken so we had to remove it so the water could go down. The jacuzzi's hardware was all corroded, window screens, dirty, shower door couldn't close properly. For the food, nothing great or even close to home cooking...prices of food very high...served us "brewed" coffee as the waiter called it but it was instant Starbucks brew that expired September 2010. As a whole, it's lousy value for money.
