“Great place to spend a few hours”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Loved the free-flying show, even though only two birds were brought out. Very commendable effort on saving, nurturing and reintroducing injured and home-bred birds into the wild.

“One of New Zealands Treasures!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

A fantastic experience, one to remember. The birds are always quick off the mark showing their prowess as the top dogs in the New Zealand sky, showing their speed agility and keen eyesight coupled with a strong bond with their trainer. Been many times over the last 5 years and theres always something new to see and always enjoyable. The hand-holds are always magical, as the birds are even more astoundingly beautiful close up! I always look forward to going back

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

This was a great way to see New Zealand's birds of prey in action and up close. We had opportunity to be photographed with the beautiful NZ falcon.

“Nature's Secret!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

Finally got to visit Wingspan which we've been meaning to do for ages after hearing Wingspan patron, Ruud Kleinpast, 'going on' about it on the radio, every week, over many months!

What a treat this is! The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. You can see how much they are dedicated to their jobs. The demonstration flights of the falcons were breath-taking - such incredible speed and manoeuvrability. The highly informative talk which accompanied the flights was as interesting as anything I could imagine. Becoming 'Falconers', even for a few minutes, was a real treat.

Seeing Andrew hand-feeding the 18 day old Morepork owlet, Frodo (because of his hairy feet!) was delightful - just a bundle of grey silky fluff! Whisper is fostering the two new chicks but Andrew 'helps out'.

So pleased we made the effort to visit this amazing attraction - it really deserves far more attention than it currently gets. Even many of the locals in Rotorua are unaware of this treasure so close to their homes. Would recomment any international visitors go to see New Zealand's native birds in this lovely natural environment. A 'Must See again' for our next trip, especially when we have grandchildren with us, to show them these beautiful birds up close.
