Visited here for dinner Saturday 25th August, 2013. It was lovely weather, and we managed to grab a table outside. I have previously visited the pub three times before for dinner, the last time being three years ago.
I am sad to report that standards do seem to be slipping, and for me, consistancy is everything, and attention to detail was missing here, which was a shame.
I ordered the duck special, and the duck was overcooked by quite some margain. For £15, I really would have expected better. My Wife's pie was stodgy, but good amount of ham within.
Chef's champ was good, but veg overcooked and unseasoned. Was sush a shame as it was a lovely summer's evening, let down by a few errors in the kitchen. I am unsure if there have been changes in the kitchen staff, but something did seem to be missing, and for what is being charged, £15 a main course, £3.40 a pint, these do need to be ironed out really.
The pub itself is still in a good position, and if the weather is good, the outdoor area is perfect. I would still return, but perhaps have a BBQ beforehand, and go just for a drink.
