This is a one-of-a-kind traditional resthouse built in 1929 by the Sultan of Pahang. Service has declined markedly over the last 10 years, but the resthouse is still fantastic value at 55 ringitts per room. For this, you get a large rattan and iron bed, ample space, excellent bathroom and good facilities. It is well worth booking in advance as Pekan is the old capital of Pahang and frequent sporting and cultural events are organised in the town by the Sultan. You won't find better value for money in the whole of West Malaysia.
