“Perfect Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

I have recently returned from Thailand... whilst i was in thailand we stayed in Koh Samui, and at the centara Villas Samui.

Where can i start upon arrival we were greeted by the staff with a coconut cocktail just before you check in.. i new from this point it was going to be amazing..

The hotel has 3 swimming pools (which are all very clean) i spent most of my time at the main pool (next to the beach and bar)

The resort is a 10 minute drive from lamai main "strip" which is full of restaurants / bars etc. and a 20 minute drive to chaweng.

the hotel provides a shuttle bus which is a lot cheaper than getting a taxi..

The accommodation is the best part of the resort you are in your own private villas and we were lucky enough to have a pool villa which was upgraded to us free of charge1

The hotel food is amazing... and they also have 2 happy hours (BUY 1 GET 1 FREE ON ALL DRINKS) 1-2 and 6-7

Room Tip: All of the rooms are perfect really we were lucky enough to be upgraded but we even looked at the &q...

We stayed over the Christmas period everyone was so welcoming we love the spa which was in the resort the only thing was the monsoon weather on new year eve gala night we got a little wet and so did our food so we gave up on that and went back to our villa but the staff carried on regardless making sure the holidaymakers had a good time . The food was amazing and the cocktails were delicious .Nothing was to much trouble if you didn't want to eat at the restaurant you can request for your meal to be brought to your room . The beach at night was amazing and my hubby surprised me with a meal on the beach it was so romantic we even had a singing duo serenade us on the beach too . A lovely place to stay

Dear spencer1london,

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share your experiences.

We are very happy to read that you and your husband enjoyed your stay despite some of the inclement weather we all endured during late December. New Years Eve was certainly an 'experience' that I hope we won't have endure again too soon. We would like to thank you and all of our guests that stayed during that time for the very gracious understanding and patience during the very wet start to our NYE party.

We do look forward to being of service again.

With kind regards
The Staff & Management of Centara Villas Samui

We visited the resort last November and enjoyed it so much that we will return this year in October. And we normaly don´t do two-timers :-) We were welcomed warmly with cold drinks and a towel. And that although we had a very late check in after 9 p.m.

We stayed in a deluxe spa villa and can only recommend that because they have some more privacy. You have a small front terrace where you can usually find some shade. Then there is the second terrace which is furnished and facing the ocean and has its own jacuzzi. We also had 2 complimentary cocktails per day at the Coral Bar.

The staff were amazing and tried everything to make our stay the best. They knew when to entertaine and strike up a conversation (the speak a very good English) and when "simply serve and be invisibly".

We can highly recommend the Cenvaree Spa. We had treatments every second day. The prices are really low and the quality is perfect.

The food at the hotel restaurant (which by the way is open air and located directly on the beach) is fantastic. There is a different buffet theme every night but you can also choose a la carte.

The resort is everything you need when you´re looking for a relaxing getaway. We´re looking forward on going back in October.

Room Tip: At least a deluxe spa villa for more privacy on the therrace

We visited Centara Villas for the 4th time at the end of February for 15 nights & once again enjoyed a wonderful stay, the staff were excellent & knowing the resort & the island made for some excellent excursions, walks & cycle rides on the bikes provided by the hotel. We were joined on this stay by a friend who was also taken with the resort, which was very gratifying,we will continue to recommend both friends & family to this true gem in Koh Samui.

We visited this resort last April and enjoyed it so much we returned again this year. We chose a Deluxe Villa this time, near the top of the hill and didn't find the steps a problem at all. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Most speak very good English and they are always smiling, especially Anu. The food at the hotel is fantastic and we love the fact that the hotel restaurant and cocktail bar is open air and right by the beach. There are always plenty of sun loungers on the beach and the shallow water means the sea is warm. Even the beach sellers are friendly and do not hassle you. The only slight negative we have is that the bed and pillows are very hard. However, it will not stop us from coming back sometime.

We spent a few days in this hotel in March 2013, we have chosen this hotel for the nice location, nice beach, quiet place, so a good idea for a family with young children.
I have read that the hotel has been fully renovated, unfortunately we couldn't see the difference between a renovated hotel and a non renovated. The beds are very very hard (I have seen this comment also in other clients feed back and now I can confirm this is true) and we had a very very bad smell in the bathroom all our stay. The rooms seems to have been without any good service since a while. We have chosen a spa bungalow, I must say that it is not value for the money. If you want really a room with more space and service than take the bungalow with the private pool. They have a bit more privacy. The other bungalow are facing each other and you are constantly disturb with airconditionning motor of the neighbour bungalow. So if you want to take advantage of a little bit more luxury take the private pool bungalow, otherwise take the standard room, there is no difference.
Also if you are travelling with young children and buggys you must be in good shape as you have to carry the buggy from the restaurant/beach to your room. Also for disabled persons this is not the right place to stay.
The service in this hotel is quite poor, when you ask something, nobody seems to understand you, the service at the beach is not very helpfull, prepare you to arguing to get an umbrella :-)
Concerning the food, a big effort must be done, poor choice of fruits or meals are available, everything is not fresh, juice are from industrial boxes, bread is not very good,...Nobody is smiling except a new guy (just newly in charged of the restaurant) who was nice and helpfull.
So if you like privacy, calm place and good service, this hotel is probably not for you. The biggest asset of the hotel is the nice and calm beach, the rest has clearly need to be improved.

Room Tip: Take standard rooms if you don't mind to get privacy or take the pool villa if you want to get b...

My husband I stayed at Centara in October 2012 with friends of ours. After a long mini bus ride around the Island (language barrier) we arrive at the right Centara. We were warmly welcomed and given a cool drink and towel. We were shown to our rooms and were gob smacked by the beautiful setting of the Resort.

The staff were amazing and nothing was ever too hard, there was always a smile. The staff knew what our drink requests were when it came to "Happy Hour" we were known as Mr & Mrs 314 and Mr & Mrs 318.

The resort has everything you need, we found that we were happy to stay at the resort and relax. We did hire a driver and mini bus for a day and that was a great way of seeing the island. We also took advantage of the mini bus to go into Lamai, great massages!

We would stay at Centara again!

I would like to thank some of the staff by name who made our holiday extra special, Au, Gong, Anu, Mpaporn, Am, Parichart, Kun, Chai, Bonny, Praynee, Tekta...........Thank You.......

We will see you all again soon...

Mr & Mrs 314 and Mr & Mrs 318. Australia
