“Great spot!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Just got back from Samui, had a splendid time at Centara Villas. The staff are wonderfully friendly... happy hour at the beach bar is a blast... great restaurant location, lovely beach, beeeyoootiful sunsets!

The just OK...

1. Expect to climb steps! The hotel is built on a hill and the climb from the beach to reception can be a challenge (well for me anyway, not for an athlete)
2. Don't expect too much privacy, the villas are built very close to each other.
3. Shower pressure is crummy.

The great...

1. Clean, pretty rooms with kickass aircon (which you WILL need, it's hot!)
2. Super food and service.
3. Lovely beach and pools (although the main pool is being renovated).

The hotel is a fair distance from the main towns (which we liked... it's quiet). The food can be pricey compared to local restaurants (roughly double)... but that's BAU and it's very good. Taxi's will get you anywhere at a very reasonable price. There are a couple of restaurants 5 min walk away that we enjoyed (The Barracuda was really good).

Overall... loved it!

Nice friendly hotel in a beautiful setting. Set on a hillside so not for anybody who cant climb steps. well worth doing the Baht bonanza. staff really nice, rooms clean and tidy. Barracuda restaurant just down the hill very cheap and the food good. You have to visit the Cool Bar on the beach its lovely. Would definitely go back again.

If you are looking for a quiet place away from the busy resorts on Samui, this is a very good option. The service was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious with everything you need.
The hotel restaurants were good quality with a very good buffet breakfast included in the price. Food and drink were a bit pricey but there are a few very good places within walking distance where you can get excellent local food and drink at very good prices. Our favorite was a place called Simple Life which is run by a local couple (Pom-Pom and Richard) where you get amazing Thai food at prices to good to believe.
The pool and beach area is quiet and the setting is perfect with very helpful and friendly staff who are ready and eager to serve.

We arrived at Centara Villas in September absolutely shattered from the journey but were met with a very warm welcome and free lemongrass juice which was great. The reception manager Sau was particularly welcoming and nothing was ever too much for her, always smiling and keen to help. We had a deluxe pool villa which was a bit tired round the edges and the bathroom was like a sauna but it was always kept incredibly clean as the room service was exceptional. We loved the seclusion of our room and the private pool made the holiday, really worth the extra money, it was our honeymoon anyhow!
We hired a scooter for the whole two weeks and this was really worth the money, £3.00 per day. I would recommend getting the scooter from the hotel as we did. I say this as we punctured near the Centara grand and a quick call to Sau and we driven back to our hotel and given a new scooter!!

The hotel food is very good quality but far more expensive than the two local restaurants, Barracuda and Fisherman's. We preferred the Barracuda and ate 2 courses and a beer for £5.00 each, amazing. It absolutely lashed down with rain one night and the owner drove us back to the hotel, free. We also booked a fishing trip through the barracuda, £50.00 for 4 of us, an authentic long boat and had an amazing day out. We caught a barracuda whilst fishing and the owner of the Barracuda barbequed it for us all, again free! A must do is the street market on Sunday in Lamai, cocktails for a pound and 100's of food stalls all selling dishes from 50p! Also, do find the cool bar and sample the blue drink, it's really potent!

My only gripe about the hotel was lack of proper internet and wifi but to be honest and in hindsight that was a good thing as it allowed us to totally relax and unwind like no other place we've ever been to. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: If you don't like your room ask to see another, the pool rooms are worth the money

My friend and I had 2 deluxe villas at Villas Samui and enjoyed every moment. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, scrupulously clean and well-appointed rooms and all amenities, well-maintained. Happy hour was great fun and the bar staff even prompted us to order again before the 2 for 1 time was up! The live entertainment by 2 young musicians was great and the atmosphere every night was lively and friendly.
The breakfast buffet was extensive and well prepared and we were served quickly, with a smile every time. The hotel restaurant prices were reasonable, given the portion size, and the quality and choice was excellent.
Booking trips on the island were easily accomplished with the help of the staff at reception and worked like clockwork.
Add to all that 3 turquoise pools and a spotless private beach....I would go back in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Maybe avoid the rooms closest to reception as the climb is a little strenuous if you just forgot you...

It took quite a while to write this as our holiday was in July but what a fantastic place this is. The Pools here are very clean and the person on the beach was extra helpful ie with getting you towels and chairs and positioning them wherever you wanted on the beach and always with a smile. We brought the bonanza bahts and was very happy we did. The food is great even my grandson who likes burgers chips etc was well catered for which you do not find at all resorts and very reasonable too. We ate at the 2 restaurants up the road which were nice but nothing compares to the food the Centara Villas were serving up. Breakfasts were great with fresh fruit, cereals, meats and plenty of hot food also. I can not wait to go again thanks again Centara for a fantastic holiday for me my daughter and grandson.

We just came from Thailand and what amazing time we had at Centara Villas Samui. When we landed our cab driver hinted that we should have rather booked at Centara Grand, well he couldn't have been more wrong!

Centara Villas are situated further out of town meaning that peace, silence and solitude are yours. And if you should ever need to go into town, the shuttle service which runs till midnight is an awesomely cheap option, not that you would ever want to leave!

When we first arrived, we were taken away by the amazing views! And our ocean view villa with deck chairs was just the perfect option. Spacious enough for two with the most amazing bathroom, it was a perfect start to our vacation.

The beach was just a walk away, and private. Only people staying at Centara access it meaning that it's never crowed, and beside from one lady occasionally selling things, you don't have to worrying about goods being haggled to you whilst you enjoy your cocktails on the beach.

For those who don't like sea water, there are pools, but seriously, the ocean is so amazing there! Plus with the free canoes you can spend your whole day out there!

The restaurant and room service were beyond compare! With awesome meals at the fraction of the price of the nicer restaurants around town, if you're tempted not to eat out, don't beat yourself up about it.

And the spa! Of the spa! Making bookings was exceedingly easy, the service was efficient and treatments made for goddesses.

Seriously, I wouldn't have to think twice about coming back here. It was the most amazing vacation ever.

The only down point was the stairs, but hey, something's gotta work off all those cocktail calories!

Room Tip: Don't the simple villas. Rather splurge a bit for the ocean view villa. The spa villa and pool v...
