If you're looking for great thai food with a decent view, this is the place to go.

“Excellent all round”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

We ate at Saffron twice during our visit to Samui and were hugely impressed with food the food and the overall experience.
On arrival my fiance was presented with an orchid for her hair, on our first visit the weather was nice so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the view. On the table they set a leaf with your name on
We are big Thai food fans and was slightly worried it would be over the top fancy food with a western influence but we were wrong.
All the dishes we had were superb, We had a variety of appetizers and mains and all were nicely presented and very tasty. Between courses there are a variety of freebies such and an amuse bouche, rice crackers and mango sorbet before the main course. There are 4 different rice types to choose from when the main is served and they take a photo for you to take away which is a nice touch.
The prices are high for Samui and comparable to a high end Thai London restaurant but the quality and size of portions make it well worth while.
Overall I would say this is the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten. The whole experience is 5*, we will definitely return here with Family when we come for our wedding.

“disappointing fine dining menu”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Unique location, good ambiance, excellent service, but the fine dining course with wine matching we happened to pick was a bit disappointing -- quality/preparation was generally good, but the modern/fusion aspect just didn't quite work. It was like taking much of the wonderful spices and flavors away from a typical Thai dish... without the soul. For example, the Tom Kha Gai "look-a-like" was flat like coconut juice -- again, it didn't taste bad in any way, just not as good as the original. Another example was the deep-fried lychee, which could not compare to the texture and aroma of the original deep-fried banana. The cod fish was our highlight of the night, juicy and cooked to perfection. On the other end of the spectrum the foie gras was bland and lukewarm. Overall, I would not recommend the fine dining course menu as it stands today, especially for the price. Perhaps a la carte would have been a better choice.

“Location at the top, service average, unbeliaveble!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

the food was good, amazing location, fantastic resort then we got frustrated by the f&b service, unrofessional, you can easily see lack of preparation, how serve the wine, how serve the food, etc, etc just immage our waitress while pouring the prosecco trought on the table half!
