Owner description: Jarjeer can be found in the Berber village of Oumnass just 24 kms south of Marrakech in the foothills of the High Atlas. We are a sanctuary and home to many animals. Our team of magical donkeys are friendly and always very happy to see visitors. The local people are friendly and welcoming. The community is very close with tight family ties and the culture remains traditional. All our muleteers live in the village. When you visit us you can enjoy walking with the donkeys, cycling in the foothills or just relaxing round the pool. We serve local cuisine with a special twist and all diets are catered for if meals are booked in advance.Jarjeer has an annex on site for the designer, Michele Provost. Transport can be arranged. Please contact us by email. For the adventurous, a bus journey is an excellent idea. The number 45 bus to Amizmiz leaves the bus station opposite the Koutoubia Mosque. Local people in the Medina will be happy to direct you. The journey takes approximately 30 mins and costs just 6 dms per head, ask to dismount at Oumnass. If you telephone or email in advance we will meet you at the bus stop in Oumnass or you will see the sign to Jarjeer as leave the busNote: Here at Jarjeer our donkeys provide therapeutic riding for disabled children.

“Wonderful visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

I have visited Jarjeer several times, each time I am greeted with friendly faces. This is a magnificent location to chill and relax, the surrounding is unspoilt with shepherds tending their flock, locally villager working the land and Donkey playing in their paddock - be sure to visit Tommy and offer him a polo !!
