“Great wine region close to Perth city centre!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

Just 30 mins drive from Perth city centre, Swan Valley offers an array of great wines, cheese, chocolate, ice cream and even art! Much closer that Margaret River, but still with a wide variety. Make sure you check out the Illusionary Art - metal artwork that changes as you look at it. A good idea is to combine your visit to Swan Valley with a stop in the historic town of Guilford and walk some of the heritage trails - very picturesque and good to do late in the day when the wineries close. We had a brilliant day in Swan Valley!

“A taste of the Margaret River in the city backyard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

The Swan Valley trail is a definite must if you cant make it down to MR. Actually it is worth doing anyway. I am more into food and wine though many of my younger friends really like the breweries. Must tastes are Houghtons and Sandalford. The latter has an excellent restaurant for a more formal fuller lunch. Upper reach Wines and Broads restauarnt are a good choice for me. Like the informal tapas menu in an outdoors setting and the wines are good. Havent been to Lamonts recently but has been very good in thre past.
The Chocolate Factory is popular as a bit of contrast.

A good way to try the Swan valley wineries and not miss a thing. Too much to do in one day though

“relaxing.”

so much to see and do, and if you keep stopping to eat at the many different venues, you don t have time to see everything in one day.
