Description: A delightful old, unspoilt Cornish village pub full of character and very welcoming. Dog friendly, large beer garden across the road for those lovely sunny days. In the winter after a lovely walk on the beach, come and relax in front of our roaring fires, we serve quality Ale from St Austell Brewery. We also serve a selection of hot drinks. Food is served every day. Here at The Ship,' You don't have to be local to be treated like a local you just have to come and see us'We look forward to welcoming you. From all the crewe.

“Average to ok”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2015 NEW

Went here over the weekend had a carvery as well meals off the menu. The carvery was ok, not bad but not brilliant. 2small slices of meat and limited veg. My daughter had a burger which was awful and her partner a piece of gammon which look "grey" . Shame really as we drove all the way back from Fowey just to try the food.

“Nice homely pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2015

The Ship Inn has friendly, helpful staff and although only serving typical "pub grub" the servings are generous and well cooked. It is situated in the very quaint village of Pentewan and only a stone's throw from the wide sandy beach. Although we did not go to the Thursday night carvery (£4.99 April '15 price) we were told by our guest house host that it is very good value and contrary to our thoughts regarding the low cost the vegetables are fresh and not of the frozen variety. Our only suggestion to the Ship is that the menu on other days could benefit from more vegetables with their meals rather than the chips that seem to be the main offering in pubs these days. Good selection of well kept Cornish ales.

“Delicious meal in pleasant surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2015

We stopped off in Pentewan on our way back to Mevagissey and had a walk around the pretty village and on the beach and then we decided we would have an early evening meal at The Ship Inn. It was a Thursday evening so they had an amazing offer on an inexpensive carvery which I had - it was delicious. My friend had a chicken dish off the menu and also thoroughly enjoyed it. Although they were busy, the service was excellent and it was a very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.

“Great family friendly pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2015

We really like The Ship. Nothing pretentious, just decent pub food served as generous portions with a friendly smile. Perfect when on holiday. Our kids love it here too. Nice to eat and drink in a proper pub not a revamped trendy wine bar.

“Great location and delicious carvery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2015

We love this pub and its enviable position, beautiful on a sunny day. We cycled here with friends and children on Easter Sunday for a delicious carvery, the sun was shining and they had an Easter egg hunt for the kids which was great.
