“Do not spent your time and money here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2007

We are a European family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids below 7) living in Thailand (Bangkok) for nearly 2 years. As a result we know now quite a lot of resorts in Thailand.
This one is the worst experience we went through
a) except at the counter, english speaking / understanding is close to nil
b) we booked one Junior beach bungalow which is specified on their web site to a have 1 bedroom and 1 living room for a total of 54 sq meters (same description and price as Junior Suite). That's a pure lie. In bungalow 206 (where we stayed) there is no living room just enough place to accomodate a baby cot beside the double bed. Management denied that fact ("wrong" info on the web site) and charged us the full price (ie including the living room we did not get).
c) one of the breakfast room is not well maintained (very low standard in decoration, floor state .....)
d) the beach bungalow (at least the 206) is very poorly maintained (old decoration), wooden terrace is not maintained (rotted wood, even nails might hurt your feet), the front sea one meter ahead from the terrace is not cleaned (papers, pieces of broken glass, plastic bags, ...)
e) overall, the beach around the resort is not Ok (small, and not very clean / nice or attractive : if you consider as beach a sand place)
f) food is expensive and nothing exceptionnal as compared to other places (ie resorts at beach) we know in Thailand even at this high season
g) the room rates are expensive. With their rates you can have a much better place (standard) even on high season rates

Bottom line, STAY AWAY FROM THAT TRAP, don't waste your vacation time and your money

Dear Tripadvisor.com

We would like to explain the following comments:
a) except at the counter, english speaking / understanding is close to nil
: We are Thai Management Hotel . Our staff are being trained English course continuously. We are prompt to assist our customer who asks our services.

b) we booked one Junior beach bungalow which is specified on their web site to a have 1 bedroom and 1 living room for a total of 54 sq meters (same description and price as Junior Suite). That's a pure lie. In bungalow 206 (where we stayed) there is no living room just enough place to accomodate a baby cot beside the double bed. Management denied that fact ("wrong" info on the web site) and charged us the full price (ie including the living room we did not get).
: It was happened misunderstanding that our Beach Room are located seaside .
There are space estimate 35 sq.m to 54 sq.m. If customer informed on arrival date immediately, hotel would change new room for him. But customer has informed
hotel on departure date.

c) one of the breakfast room is not well maintained (very low standard in decoration, floor state .....)
: Some customers like this decoration. It is depending on personally lifestyle.

d) the beach bungalow (at least the 206) is very poorly maintained (old decoration), wooden terrace is not maintained (rotted wood, even nails might hurt your feet), the front sea one meter ahead from the terrace is not cleaned (papers, pieces of broken glass, plastic bags, ...)
: Our Beach room is decorated natural wood.

e) overall, the beach around the resort is not Ok (small, and not very clean / nice or attractive : if you consider as beach a sand place)
: Rayong Resort Hotel has a private beach which is longer than other hotel in Rayong.

f) food is expensive and nothing exceptionnal as compared to other places (ie resorts at beach) we know in Thailand even at this high season
: We have standard menu for selecting. Customer can make a decision in advance
to order our service.

g) the room rates are expensive. With their rates you can have a much better place (standard) even on high season rates
: Room Rate is actually published . It is reasonable price for beach hotel destination.

Found this Hotel on web and booked for 4 days but after our first day had to stay for the whole duration of our holiday a total of 10 days.

It sits on a headland on it's own with it's own private beach.
Room are clean and of average size.
Breakfast was very good with a good choice for different tastes.
I would like to have had a choice of water sports e.g. sailing, windsurfing or water skiing, but none was available.

I would surely come and stay here again because of the staff. They were friendly and very helpful as if they were family.

A beautiful place to sit back and relax. Great beach and pool side. Staff are very well presented and very friendly and helpful - it was great to walk in and be called by your first name. A great way to be in a foreign country. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Great day trips to Pattaya, and Ban Phe. A very relaxing place to stay if you want a break from the hussle and bussle of Thailand.

Having traveled to nine different countries during the year and stayed in numerous hotels, I find myself it seems leaving as they say the best till last.

This colonial styled hotel is simply the finest in the area, the location, private but welcome with the warmness that only the Thai people seem to naturally exude. The resort is very private, surrounded on three sides by beaches lined with mature coconut palms and the other by hills and tree rich forests

My stay during the quieter month of December, meant that the hotel was not full, but with all the amenities and activities, which are to numerous to mention, available all year round I was able to both relax and have fun at the same time. The rooms are good and the suites simply divine all decorated in tasteful neutral tones with huge beds.

The food offered in a variety of restaurants never became repetitive and is of good fresh quality, this was a pleasant surprise as you do not have the choice of venturing out to a local nearby restaurant due to the resorts seclusion.

I will return, sooner rather than later and whole heartedly recommend this resort, not just to the reader but to my friends and family, however please do not all come at once in case I have returned!

After three nights in Bangkok we arrived Rayong Resort for an eleven nights stay. The hotel is beautifully placed at the foot of a hill among palmtrees. It has its own pier, three pools and a wonderfull quiet beach. The atmosphere is relaxing with very helpfully staff. The next town is about 3 km far and we appreciated that distance to civilisation. The local tour guide offers a lot of day activities, and we experienced trips to Ban Phe, Pattaya, Turtle Island, Rayong and Cambodia. Would we racomend this place: Yes!

Very nice hotel with clean and friendly rooms. Beautiful garden with plenty of palm threes. Very good service and restaurant. Rates a bit expensive but with possibility of discount card on request.
Small beach but very clean water.
Final judgement: I will come back soon.
