Disappointed when we first arrived, the hotel needs an urgent refurb. Weather was mixed (first week of April), which didn't help, but as it improved, we warmed to the hotel. It is very remote (best hire a car - though th ebus service is good - recommend a trip to Valetta, and the
open top hop-ob hop-off bus stops at the hotel. There is absolutely nothing at all nearby, so going all inclusive is advised, breakfast and lunch were good / okay, but dinner was good, though similar every night (only three main course choices - 1 fish, two meat dishes) but there are also pasta dishes which were generally really good. The outside pools are too cold to swim in, for that time of year, the indoor pool is fine but gets busy. A big problem is that there was lots of road works around the hotel, and the surroundings are scuffy. The nearby town (10 min drive) is nice - good to visit for a meal - for a change from the buffet. The nearest good beach is Golden Bay, 15-20 min drive.

I chose this hotel for it's situation near Comino and Gozo. There's nothing special to do over there but I really advise you to take the boat to Comino especially since it stops just in front of the hotel. Comino has marvellous clear water and caves to see. It's a must if you wish to swim in a crystal clear sea in July-August. Transportation is quite simple if you can't drive. A bus stop is located just behind the hotel and many buses go to the ferry terminal (Cirkewwa). You may need to change bus there and take any other one to the hotel (they all stop at the hotel). There was a bad smell coming from seaweed. The personel was very kind and offered me an upgrade when I complained about my 1st room. Furniture and bed covers are too old. The spa was average as well. The food was always the same, fortunately I had just takem bed & breakfast. You can take the bus to eat at Mellieha. Do not expect much from this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't hesitate to ask for a free upgrade.

Recently returned from this hotel having booked with ON THE BEACH and flew with Easyjet. Flights, transfers and hotel were all excellent. Hotel is remote which was exactly what we were looking for after a recent death in the family. My wife suffers from severe arthritis and found that once inside all the hotel facilities were accessible. All inclusive food was very good and staff really friendly especially Karen in the reception area, Tamara in the bar and John in the restaurant. Lovely views of Comino and Gozo from our room and easy access to the ferries. A bus costing 2.60 euros a day took you all over the island and left very frequently from the hotel side door, hop on hop off bus also stopped at the hotel. There are serious roadworks in the vicinity of the hotel at the moment but they do not have any significant impact on the daily activities. Lovely clean pool area. We will return.

Room Tip: sea view is best

This is very nice hotel, I'd say one of the best if you compare to other Malta hotels. But still - do not expect luxury. Don't go all inclusive I think you will be disappointed.
There are no restaurants, bars etc. withing this area, you have to travel approx.20mins.
We took a taxi or bus every evenig, which wasn't expensive.
The beach is very small, but nice. It's 2mins walk from hotel. Sunbeds are for free, but you pay for umberellas. There is a nice pub on the beach with reasonable prices. You can have a beer, icecream or a snack (hamburger, chicken nuggets...).
There is aqua-excercise every day at 10-11am, DO expect terrible music and noise :o)

We were AI for a week at this hotel. We had a spacious pool/sea view room with balcony. Bathroom with shower - which was very good. Small 20" TV with three english speaking channels (BBC world news, BBC Entertainment (old sitcoms/documentaries/drama/soaps), and MGM film channel but volume was quite inaudible!!!! Plug sockets were english 3 point. There was a small table & chairs, wardrobe & drawers in our room. Maria - head of housekeeping was very friendly & helpful. A small gift shop with very reasonable prices in the lobby. Two bars for coffee/cake/ & drinks. Restaurant meals (in buffet style - one restaurant only) were varied with two pasta dishes every dinner-time, one fish dish, one/two meat dishes, one potato dish, one veg dish (carrots/green beans/cauliflower etc), various salad items (although not sure what most were/not labelled at all), various cold desserts & ice-cream. Food in general was quite good - the Chef was very helpful and accommodating due to my allergies. You could eat in A La'Carte restaurant next door if you paid quite a bit extra!!!!

Card room, games room, indoor swimming pool, spa and sauna available if wanted.

Entertainment was a singer or duo in bar along from the restaurant - most nights of the week. We personally felt more could have been done in the way of entertainment during the day and evening as the hotel was remote.

Bus stop at back of hotel to other little towns - but took over an hour to Valletta/Sliema. By the advice of reception we did get on a "free" sight-seeing bus to Sliema (other than that you have to pay for the "tour") BUT after stopping on-route at various hotels/and waiting too - we finally arrived almost TWO HOURS later!!!!!!

David, the assistant General Manager was extremely helpful previous to arriving at the hotel and whilst we were there.

A TIP - we ordered a packed lunch (sandwich/apple/water) as we were going to be leaving the hotel around 05.30am for the airport (ordered over 24 hours in advance) - BUT- when we went to the restaurant for our lunch the previous day we were told we would have to "pay for lunch" as we had ordered a packed lunch!!!! After explaining about our very early departure & if they wanted to see our packed lunch - it was still in our room!!!!! - after complaining to Management it was "waivered". I said "what do you do for breakfast on very early departures as the restaurant is not open then"? The receptionist said "when people "ASK" us, we tell them there is coffee & cake available at reception (cake for breakfast!!!). Most people I spoke to didn't know about this - I think they should make a note of it on their "all inclusive details" given to guests on arrival.

Room Tip: Best are the pool/sea view rooms. Land side rooms do have balconies too - but a lot of sun in the m...

If you like cheap and cheerful this is the place. Don't go all inclusive I think you will be disappointed. No coffee making facilities in the room is not great as the coffee served in the main cafeteria is awful. You must pay for a decent coffee.
Not a 4 star hotel by UK standards but for the price value for money. Not a lot to do around the hotel apart from the spa stuff but Malta is small enough to get around quite quickly, the local buses are great and cheap. Lot's of construction going on at the moment in this area.
Some excellent restaurants in Mellieha so I think bed and breakfast is the best option here. Friendly staff and all the locals are friendly. Would i stay here again? Yes.

Room Tip: Overlooking the pool as the landscape behind the hotel is barren or under construction.
