“NIce place But a bit out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2011

Great place with clean rooms and nice staff.
Only downside was it is a bit away from the center on a fairly steep hill, but it was good in a way to walk off the meals we had every night......
Enjoyed our week´s holiday there and will be back!

Beverly Hills Heights, Tenerife.

My wife and I have just returned from a one week holiday at Beverly Hills Heights Tenerife which was booked through RCI points system.
We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was large, spacious and bright. It was on the second floor giving us a very good view to the port and sea.
The apartment was as you would expect with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. It had a large fridge/freezer, oven hob (4 rings) and microwave all in very good condition.
The lounge had 2 sets of patio doors leading onto a large balcony which had table 4 chairs, 2 loungers and 2 upright loungers. As it was open plan off the lounge area was the dining area with a nice table and 6 chairs. The kitchen area had 3 bar stools where you could also sit and eat. The main bedroom had a double bed and ensuite. The second bedroom had 2 single beds and the bathroom was just outside it but very nice. The entire apartment was finished to a high standard and the colour décor was perfect for us.
We were told prior to arriving the pool was not in use due to work being carried out. It was reopened the day we were leaving and it was stunning, all new sun loungers and again colour scheme very well chosen.
I would recommend this hotel for its peaceful, quiet, relaxing atmosphere.
I should point out it is situated high up and the hills are fairly steep, but it’s not really a problem as there is a courteous bus which runs regular and lots of taxis.
Once you have visited this hotel you are not allowed back for 3 years which I find very strange!!!!!! I would suggest hotel management team should reconsider this point as we would certainly like to return before 3 years.

lovely hotel, staff friendly. Downside was we were not informed that the pool was getting work done to it so it was closed no bar or entertainment which made us want to go out everyday we only had a short walk to the other two pools we could use which were nice but would of liked to wake up to a nice view instead of noise due to work been done. If everything was in place this would be a lovely hotel to stay in again.

This is the second visit to Beverley Heights as we have invested in a time share!!!! Beware when you do purchase if you want to sell the next year it is very difficult and you are encouraged/persuaded and cojoaled into purchasing a better apartment. Of course the excuse is the recession. Goodness knows what we will do next year.

The weather was fantastic and the pool area very peaceful around lunch time when the small 'very noisy' children obviously went for lunch and a sleep. It was fascinating to watch as soon as they went the adults got into the pool to have a swim 'in peace'. The noise of the children did spoil it for us.
Everywhere is maintained extrtemely well, very clean and staff friendly and helpful.
The local restaurants are excellent with the Belvedere being our favourite.

It is well worth a visit - an enjoyable week.

We went on one of the £99 promotion offers, and requested a two bed roomed apartment as we were travelling with two of our sons who were in their 20s.

Airfares to Tenerife are not cheap and we opted for Monarch from Gatwick which worked out ar around £180 per person.

Our arrival was smooth, and we found the taxi desk and it was there that we were informed that we were staying at the Beverly Hills Heights, this is one of three units in their complex, we had requested the Hollywood Mirage, but was allocated BHH.

I will come to the timeshare reps at the end of this review, but the pros and cons of BHH are as follows;

PROS

£99 for a two bed roomed apartment is good value- yes you have to sit through a presentation but that is the trade off.

The apartment was fairly spacious, with a bathroom ensuite in the main bed room, and a seperate bathroom off of the twin bedded room.

Good selection of English channels on the TV including ITV, Sky news etc.

The pool is probably the quitest of the three units on the complex and Victor the lifeguard works hard to make sure you are happy, bringing you umberella's, cushions etc.

Very quite at night- no noise.

CONS

The bar restuarant opens at 10am and shuts at 6pm, so after 6pm there is no facilities at all.

Bedding wasn't changed until we complained after 5 days

The change your towels every 3 days or so, not daily

The air conditioning is on a timer, so you can't have air conditioning at certain times.

Cockroaches- yes we had them and when mentioned this to reception was advised to use the "spray" under the sink.

We ate out at restaurants every day, and enjoyed Taylors, which is down the road and shows all UK football matches on multiple screens and serves great fish and chips.

We also took another reviewers advice and went by taxi (about 5 minutes) to a restaurant called La Rodeo. This is an Argentinian restaurant, and whilst the decor is more of a service station type restaurant, they bring around cuts of meat on a skewer such as fillet steak, lamb, chicken, pork until you flip the card on your table to say you are done. The salad and vegetable bar is huge and you go back as many times as you like. It cost around 20 euro's a head, but everyone wanted to go back and felt it was excellent value.

We had two of our sons with us, who wanted to go clubbing, and went every night in to Playa de Americas which cost them around 6 euro's by taxi.

We visited the volcano on a half day trip and also went to the water park and the zoo at Loro Parque.

Loro Parque, was sensational, on par with Sea World and Busch Gardens in Florida, definetely reccomend the discovery tour that they offer you when you enter- for an extra 10 Euros it takes you behind the scenes and a quick tour of the park.

The Killer whale and the dolphin shows were great.

Now the timeshare.

I would strongly reccomend anyone going on a promotion holiday, to do their homework and check on e bay for example going rates, we found apartments selling for between £450 and £1,200, and when put to the timeshare rep, it clearly took the wind from his sails. He just said that you can't always trust e bay????

I would also suggest, that you clarify at the begining how long the meeting is going to take and say that you have arranged to meet someone later so it can't go over the time.

Also, as we did, use the meeting as you would when you go on a package tour meeting the rep, and spend a lot of the time asking about the area, restaurants, trips etc etc, at least then you don't feel that you have wasted your morning or afternoon.

Be aware that they are a very slick operation, with photo's on their desks of their loved one's to give the impresion that they are all nice family people.

I would NEVER agree to sign anything when you are there- the "deal of a lifetime" will still be there when you get home, even though they will tell you there is a cooling off period.

All in all, we had a great time, I would say that the BHH is between a 2* and a 3* resort, don't let the timeshare reps get to you and I am sure you will have a great time.

The place itself was very nice, very clean. We used to go to Hollywood Mirage pool as our family was staying there and the pool was larger than Heights pool. The location is a bit out and up a steep hill but free buses to and from the beach were great. There was some excellent restaurants nearby as well as in Los Cristianos.
We went on a promotional deal so expected the timeshare presentation, didn't expect the horrible and thuggish behaviour though. If you have to do the same demand that you expect to stay 90 mins for the presentation only as I did, it will get them irate but if you aren't interested tell them and don't be intimidated. Some families were there 5 and 6 hours........

We came here as a timeshare special offer only paying £99 for accommodation for 6 of us. Flights were quite expensive but was offset by the cost of apartment. We were put in BHH on arrival. Had to climb 2 small flights of stairs to our place - very tiring after a night out walking up other numerous steps from BHC across the road. Apartment clean, downside was the sofa bed, it wasn't actually a double sofa bed but you slept on the sofa and the other person slept on a pull out drawer - only suitable for children although I dislike my children sleeping on another floor than myself! Timeshare guy pleasant enough but very pushy - overall took 6 hours and when it was obvious we weren't buying was very very pushy, even going so far to call us "stupid" not to take up this fantastic offer. Overall a reasonable holiday as I hadn't been to Tenerife before but I won't be timesharing again! Worth going if you can get it cheap enough and are determined not to buy.
