“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

We visted this restaurant in La Camella by chance. I can honestly say this is the best meal we have had in tenerife! Service was excellent, friendly and professional. The food was GREAT!
Most highly recommended.

“Very good meat and great wines”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

Located some 10 km upcountry from Playa de las Americas, Arona is not, in my eyes, a touristic highlight of Tenerife. El Lajar de Bello, a typical local restaurant, however, is definitely worth the trip.

The restaurant was recommended to us by friends who live on the island. Regrettably, my wife and I tryed it out the very last evening of our Easter holidays. Otherwise, this would not have been our only dinner at this place.

The menu offers a broad choice of starters and main courses, but the restaurant is specialised in grilled meat. I tried the “beef with liver”, which turned out to be a marvelous, succulently tender piece of beef with foie gras, what the French call a Tournedos Rossini. Absolutely great! The fried calamaris I took as a starter were delicious, too.

Regarding the wine menu, this restaurant has an approach I’ve never seen anywhere else so far: The prices on the wine menu are the restaurant’s purchase prices. They only charge you this price plus a corkage fee of only 6 euros! So you know exactly what you get. Needless to say that this policy keeps your bill at a very reasonable level. This doesn’t mean that El Lajar de Bello is cheap, but the price/quality ratio is excellent.

I recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

“Another amazing meal.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

There are times when you just don't have the words to express your thanks....We always enjoy the food at El Lajar De Bello.....Last Friday was no exception.....They truly excelled themselves....We had the best Steak Tartare we have ever tasted, prepared at the table by Alex the owner of the restaurant....Our sincere thanks to Alex and his very attentive staff for a very enjoyable evening.

“Off the beaten track”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

This out of town restaurant is frequented by locals and tourists alike. this in itself is testament to how good it is. Prices are very reasonable and the wine list is extensive but not expensive. beware of the portion sizes especially the Canarian dishes, one of our party had belly pork and took away the "doggy" bag and fed himself for a few days with it. The tasters and sorbets are to die for. we always book but in the week it is not too busy. We would highly recommend this very impressive eating house.

“Great local restaurant just out of Los Cristianos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Recommended by a local, this Spanish restaurant located just a few minutes up the mountain in La Camella outside Los Cristianos was delightful, with a few surprises.
Interestingly the have 2 TV screens where you can watch what goes on in the very clean and organised kitchen.
The food was delicious, a very good portion of garlic prawns for my wife and a very tasty variety of garlic mushrooms for me.
We both had fillet steak, vegetables and fries (not very Spanish but delicious) I was a little baffled by the wine list as it was very cheap, but this is because they sell the wine at supermarket prices and then add €6, which for the red rioja we drank €6.75+€6=12.75 for a very nice red. This was the cheapest wine of the whole holiday.

Would recommend this restaurant.
