We've stayed in this complex before and we liked it so we booked again. The individual bungalows, whilst not huge are adequate for 2 people. The patio area in front is quite big and accomodates 2 loungers, tables & chairs no problem. The presses are wel stocked with glasses, crocery & cutlery. The bathroom is a decent size as are the wardrobes. But the beds are not particularly comfortable and this hasn't changed in 3 years. The maid service is very good. We actually cleaned up for her, but she was very good and pleasant. The pool is quite decent and the sun bathing area is quite large. However there is a lack of sunloungers and there are no umbrellas available. The shed like structures just dont do the job. The gardens are lush and very interesting. They are clearly well maintained. From an artist's perspective, they are wonderful to look at and study for painting. But even for a non artist they provide an air of tranquility. Which leads me to how quiet it is. To me & my husband, living a life of non stop go, go, go, it is Heaven to hear silence but for the traffic outside. Its in an ideal location, with taxis running ourside every 2 minutes and equal distance from Playa del Ingles and Melonores, Taxi to both with tip only €5.00. My only problem is with the staff on the reception desk. There is one guy, who is different from the rest and he is very polite and helpful, so I hate to tar him with the one brush. But I am sure anyone that goes there will soon find out who I mean. Anytime we wanted to ask a question we would look in to see if he was there, but he wasn't. We had decided on a tip of €20.00 to have ready for him and him alone, i.e. not for sharing, on the last day but he wasn't there either the night before or the day we were leaving, There is one female receptionist and on our last stay we found her to be obnoxious & condescending, We had hoped she would have moved on, but she was still there and as charming as ever! Our flight home was not until 8 and we were out of our apartment from 12. In fact at 1 minute to 12, (after I had cleaned the apartment and taken sheets off the bed & saved approx 30 minutes work, not to mention leaving a fridge full of wine, beer and champage) a male receptionist rang to say we weren't out and he wanted the key. My husband went up and asked had they given any more thought to our request the previous nigh, for somewhere to change and clean up. Not wanting it for nothing and offering to pay a full days rate. He said "yes and no you can't. My husband said to him the place was empty and he said you can go to the hotel across the road to change. My husband asked him is that the small cubby hole under the shop (cos we've had previous experience of that) and he replied "yes" shutting his eyes at him with a real take it or leave it attitude. My husband pleaded with him, explaining that its always filty and so jammers you can't watch your bag and the floor always wet with God knows what, so that you can't change. He just gave a humph and a shrug and said thats it. So we decided we'd forego the showers and just change in the public toilets in our hotel. So we went to do that, and lo and behold the restaurant/bar closed (no sign) and we had only had our lunch there. Then we went to use the ones downstairs and that was all roped off. If anyone at the pool wanted to relieve themslves they had to go back to their bungalow. So with nothing left available to us we went across the road only to find the room locked. John went to reception there and said we were told to come across here. He was told he couldn't have the key because he didn't stay there. What we were allowed do was change oursleves in the public toilets at their restaurant. So no choice and time running out on us. It was a fiasco. I really want to reiterate that there was one nice guy, who unfortunately we never got the name of. But the attitude of the rest of them seems to be something along the lines of : Our establishment is so beautiful it does the work for us, so people will still come anyway and we don't have to be nice to them. But, I think with fewer people taking holidays and the places getting quieter, they should be trying to hold onto their regualar guests and enticing new ones and not driving them away. I myself, whilst I love the place, am very disappointed with their behaviour and attitude. You get enough hassle in your normal evryday life, you want to leave that behind for a bit when you take your holiday, not get more of it.
Wouldn't be sure any requests honored here
