“Really good hotel……good value for money and great resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We’ve just returned from a 2 week holiday at this hotel and we’re pleased to say that overall we have no real complaints whatsoever. The recent “makeover” has certainly raised this hotel to a solid 4 Star rating and the all-inclusive package proved to be really good value for money. Our room was light and airy with a lovely bathroom and great walk in shower. Also a DOUBLE BED…..how nice was that..? Gardens and pool area were immaculate and kept very clean; plenty of sunbeds (although had to play the “get up early” game to reserve a decent place around the pool….); change of pool towels daily; great sea views and a full activities schedule for those wanting a more active holiday. Good quality and good choice of food and drinks and a good selection of bars and restaurant areas to choose from. The Asian restaurant was well worth a visit and the Atlántico restaurant was a great place to have breakfast and /or lunch with views overlooking the sea. The staff also deserve a special mention as they were simply excellent. This up market resort also proved to be a pleasant surprise in that it had some super restaurants and bars, top quality shops and a string of 4 or 5 Star hotels which offered varied entertainment for those wanting an occasional change of scenery in the evening. Being very “picky” we’d have to say that the evening entertainment was pretty dire and very repetitive – hence the reason for us going out a few nights even though this somewhat defeated the point of our all-inclusive package. Also disappointed to see only 3 or 4 English news channels on the TV versus a full range of German channels – not that you go on holiday to watch the TV but nevertheless some form of parity with our German neighbours would have been nice to see. Otherwise a really good holiday, good hotel and lovely resort. Would we go back to this hotel – probably not purely from the point of view that we’d have perhaps preferred to pay a bit more for a half board deal at one of the 5 Star hotels – in particular the Villa del Conde next door which was simply stunning – but for those wanting a good value holiday in a good 4 Star hotel then you won’t be disappointed.

Room Tip: Worth paying a bit extra to guarantee a pool/sea view

Stayed Aug 13. Hotel very nice clean well decorated and good all inclusive, with a nice choice of eating areas. Pool area busy as the hotel was very full.Only moan we have is that the entertainment outside in the evening was the same couple for the whole week.
Did not see it published however you can get 90 mins free internet access per day in the hotel lobby area on your device i.e phone or tablet, not that fast however good for catching up on mails etc.
Good hotel

Me and my partner checked in on the 31st august and had an amazing time.
The hotel is just outstanding now it has been done , and you can tell a lot of hard work has been put into the hotel. You will never have a problem getting a sunbed here eaither as it is such a big hotel there is plenty of room. I have been to a lot of riu hotels but I really rate this one been the best yet !
There is a few different bars including a nightclub called bubbles which is great. The team and the staff are great too and really took pride in the evening entertainment , doing things like rock and roll nights , Greece tributes and plenty more.
There is a nice promenade at the back of the hotel which leads to shops , bars and restaurants. A lovely walk when the sun sets. There is a beach about a 5-10 min walk which is sand but then lots of stones and pebbles too. Would definitely recommend this hotel and well worth the money , you Will not be disappointed !!!

This hotel has just had a makeover and it is modern and fresh with bright colours and open space. The bedrooms are spacious with walk in shower, flat screen tv , free safe, good air con, nice modern bed and mattresses. The hotel itself caters well for all the guests with large open areas and plenty of sun loungers. The food is excellent, and the staff work hard in the restaurants to keep high standards. The bar staff also work hard to make sure you do not wait long for drinks and branded makes were used with generous measures. At night it became a little crowded in the outside sitting area and not enough seats for everyone, but you could go into the showbar and have a seat easily. There were many different nationalities about, with the guests being mostly German which usually tells you the hotel provides good service. Meloneras itself is not large and provides a few restaurants and trendy shopping arcades. If you want live bars and sky sport football close to the hotel you will not get it. Play del ingles is close by and a short taxi ride will give you all that. Overall we thought the hotel was of a high standard with a recent makeover that makes it look like new, friendly staff and excellent all inclusive.

Room Tip: Rooms are all like new and very modern.

Had a 14 night holiday in August with the family, mixed ages. Teenagers, forty some things and seniors, all enjoyed it enormously. Booked with Thomson so holiday experience was expected to be good, and they didn't disappoint. Flights on time, information good, Hotel, (recently re-opened, after extensive modernisation) excellent, no dust, no unfinished work, and the staff were the jewel in RIU's crown.

The only problem, and I can understand that some won't agree, was that the Hotel "allowed" and did in fact "encourage" smoking in the bars and some of the restaurants.
Admittedly this was in the open parts, but never the less, when you've just sat down to eat your meal, you don't want people on the next table lighting up cigarettes or cigars.
I say the hotel encouraged this! because they had ash trays on EVERY table.

So, great hotel, great position, great food, (sometimes spoilt by smoke), fantastic staff, come on RIU and Thomson, don't let it be spoilt by a few selfish people who can't wait 5 minutes for a FAG !!!!

Booked this hotel because the travel agent recommended it, we were not disappointed. We stayed for 14 nights. Rooms spacious, very modern, clean and plenty of wardrobe and draw space. Hotel communal areas very clean and all staff very pleasant and helpful. The animation team worked very hard but the entertainment at night was dire. The rule of don't reserve sunbeds is ignored, although we never had a problem getting a sunbed what ever time of day we went. The infinity was lovely but unless you got up at the crack of dawn there was no chance of getting a sunbed. There was plenty of choice of food in the main restaurant and quite a lot was cooked in front of you. Plenty of taxis just outside the hotel. We hired a car for 4 days so didn't go on any of the Thomson trips. It is a lovely refurbished hotel and Riu did not let us down.
