“it felt like home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2011

i had the most amazing, relaxing holiday at jardin dorado. the bungolaws are very clean, the beds very confortable, you could only hear the birds sing in the morning, it was very peaceful and i had a great sleep. i was looking to get away from my busy day to day life and this was the perfect spot. Away from the trafic, surrounded by a golf course, with very friendly staff and good food. and the price was perfect. i found a deal via low cost holidays. the bus 66 takes you directly from faro de maspalomas to the airoport in about 45 min. the shopping centre Faro 2 is only 10 min walk and the food is cheap. i had fresh fish with boiled potatoes and sald and a drink for 8 euros. i have also used the hotel's sauna one evening when it was a bit chilly outside, and if you wish to watch TV there is plenty of choise from spanish to german and english chanels. you can also hang your laundry in the back yard or sunbathe in your own little garden in front of the bungalow. you can also rent a bike or rollerblade around maspalomas as the pedestrian streets are of excelent quality. i also felt safe walking around the town alone at night time, i felt that people were friendly and peaceful. the pools are very clean and one of them is heated. what can i say, it was one of my best holiday and i recomend anyone to choose this hotel.

We were "bumped" to here having booked 6 months ahead for the Parque Cristobal.
One person in our party has MS and we travel with a transfer chair.
Bungalow 302 had a good wet-room for disabled and the bedroom was arranged to be more wheelchair friendly. There was a ramp to the dining room through reception and, for us, the site was generally wheelchair friendly. We were "bumped" from self-catering to all-inclusive. With judicious selection the food was good. There are always made salads and salad stuff. There is always fish, chicken and either beef, pork or (more rarely) lamb. For one week away it was great.

We booked for seven nights over new years 2011. When we arrived at the hotel, after a 40 euro cab ride from the airport, we were ushered out of the lobby by the manager and told that there were no rooms available! We had booked this hotel, with email confirmation through expedia several months prior to arrival. We were told to get into a cab and told that we were being sent to another hotel...in a different town! We had no choice....it would be impossible to get another hotel on dec.30th. We were sent to a very old all inclusive hotel and got the worst rooms in the hotel. We were then told we could only stay at the new hotel for three nights and then would have to go back to the other hotel. The original hotel obviously booked rooms at higher rates to other travelers and sent us to the crappy hotel! Expedia would not compensate us for this unbelievable experience. This hotel and expedia can not be trusted!

Very relaxed bungalow hotel with positive friendly staff. Great breakfast and nice lunch buffet. A little bit off from other restaurants and beach, but taxis are cheap. Nice pool area with pool bar and partly heated pool.

We are seasoned Gran Canaria holiday makers at Xmas - thankfully we were moved to a 5star for 2 days as this place was oversubscribed but hunfortunately had to return. The complex has the look of a mausoleum and the smallest gym (in a shed) that I have seen. The reception staff had a tendency to be rude and dismissive at times and it took 3 requests before they provided us with a coffee maker. Beware if you have booked this as self catering. The bungalows do not have any cooking facilities - no kitchen, sink or cooker and not even a kettle!
Despite this the place is quiet and the bungalows have been updated I think. They do have 32 inch LCD TV's - but I would have preferred to be able to make a cup of tea in the mornings. Although the bungalows have a terrace these have no privavcy or screening and considering the complex's name - the gardens are rather scrublike and immature.

Lack of staff. Advertised as 4 star all inclusive and clearly not .All meal service with bar service was only provided with two staff. Most of the day only two staff available front of house one in reception and one in bar. All inclusive deal terrible especially if you have children. Food absolutely terrible. Always cold unless it was a gala evening ie New Years Eve when there was an abundance of staf and warm food. Mainly catered for German food wise but even they were complaining about quality and service. The best meal of the day was breakfast and that was debatable. Not suited for children and rooms too small for a family of four. Self catering people had no self catering facilties even though advertised as this was available. Only entertainment for children would be up to age of 2 as small child play area and pool table. Older children and preschool from 4 would be boared unless money was spent going into more built up areas. Hot water short in supply so lather up before you turn on water. Abundance of sunbeds and pool area clean. What staff were there were helpful. Book only for two star price.

Very well laid out bungalows in a circle around the pool area, however this was designed to give as much privacy as possible. The self catering facilities are adequate for a holiday, and the utensils look as if they have hardly been used. The cleaning was excellent, far more than we expected, they even did the washing up. The pool area was well maintained and thoroughly cleaned every morning, although the water was very cold. Glad we did not go on half board, as the food did not look very appealing, but breakfast was fine. 10mins from a local supermarket, 2mois from a mini-market. A shuttle bus service was supplied to Maspalomas, or it was a picturesque 40min walk. Would definitely return, and would recommend to people who want some peace and quiet, but still close to lively nightlife. Incredible value for money.
