Stayed here in March 2009. The bungalows are clean and basic and if you want somewhere cheap and cheerful then this is a reasonable place. We had a bungalow facing the pool which was probably one of the better ones as some people who had bungalows located at the back had a problem with cockroaches. We only had 1 cockroach on the first day which we destroyed with spray which was left there for us to use. The maid came in about 3 times in the week to change the towels and sweep the floor. She didn't change the bed linen or make the beds on any of those occasions.
The barman Joe was very nice and hard working and although we didn't eat there the people that did said the food was nice. He has a day off once a week and on this day the bar is shut all day and night.
The location is fairly good with shops being only 5 mins away however the beach and the dunes are a good 45 min walk but it's flat and takes you alongside the canal. There are plenty of taxis if you prefer. For golfers there are loads of courses nearby.
If you like Chinese food there is a great one in the Yumbo centre in Playa Des Ingles - all you can eat for 7.50 euros and it's the one located opposite the Gay nightclub. Also plenty of shops here with wide variety of things to haggle for.

We just returned from our family holiday in Maspalomas.
I had been checking trip advisor frequently prior to going so I knew from what I read that these bungalows were basic.
To be honest they were clean and supplied with crockery, washing up liquid and insect spray, but the place really benefit from a total revamp. It looks as though it hasn't been touched since they were built, apart from the occasional white wash!!! the paint was peeling off the walls in ours, sometimes in large chunks, the sheets had seen better days. Poor over worked Joe behind the bar??? Yes i know he is on his own but WHY??? Dont depend on this place for a meal when ever you like!
The pool is great (but watch out if you have small children as there is no shallow kids pool.) The gardens surrounding were beautiful and very well kept.
Outside of this our only real problems were the pushy shop owners, we found they can be quite abusive if you decide you dont want to buy something you have been looking at.

Just home today after spending a week at the Kiwi in maspolomas. Just wanted to say that Kiwi is really brilliant - nice villa, clean and the staff, especially Joe at the bar!, very friendly. Much recommended +++ and would stay there again when we go back to maspolomas.

2 Adults, 2 Kids 13 and 11

We arrived around midnight and were greeted at reception and promptly shown to our apartment. We all had a wonderful sleep in a very comfortable, well-equipped apartment. The bedroom had two single beds and the lounge/2nd bedroom also had two sofas cum beds. Everything was very clean.

Lounge was equipped with 2 ring hob, toaster and kettle and ample cutlery and crockery if you really wanted to cook which we didn't - we were on holiday after all!!!

We saw 3 cockroaches in 2 weeks which seems to be alarming some holiday makers. A couple who arrived a day after us even spent the night in their hired car after finding one in their apartment - get a life, it's like telling people we don't have midges in Scotland!!!!!! They're not going to eat you - midges do!!!!!!

Pool very clean, plenty of sunbeds, friendly quiet area. Joe the barman was a true legend. Works hard 13 hours a day, 6 days a week. He has a great sense of humour and keeps everyone in his small pool-side bar well entertained. Some people complained if he didn't want to cook them a full meal when they wanted - he is one man in a small kitchen with only 2 hands. Some people have no patience or manners.

We had a brilliant holiday at the Kiwi apartments and would recommend them to anyone. Brilliant, relaxing holiday.
