“superb from start to finish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2009

Had a weeks stay at this wonderful hotel. Initial welcome by bell boy courtesy and politeness from check in staff. We were then taken onto terrace for a complimentary glass of "champagne" which was Cava but still excellent, and the hotel facilities were explained. Great room overlooking pool and gardens. Meals were excellent, buffet breakfasts, a la carte dinners and 3 "barbecue" evenings. All food of highest quality, well presented, wide variety and served with style and grace. Staff throughout the hotel all appeared to be happy to work there. No grumpy faces and all extremely obliging. Hotel manager often in evidence and she and other senior staff made it their business to check that everything was ok. Entertainment during dinner, which then transferred on to the pool terrace until 10pm. This was followed by further entertainment in lounge.
Three pools, one where under 16's are excluded. Sauna, steam and massages also available. Very close to wide expanse of beach though why anyone would want to leave this oasis of peace and calm and head for the sand is not obvious to me. Majority of guests were older and consequently understood how to behave. Unfortunately there was a group of 6 adults and 2 older children ( possibly from Essex area judging by accents) who seemed to lack any comprehension of how to speak quietly and what the sign for no inflatables in the main pool meant. Their behaviour and attitude (noted also in a previous review) did nothing to endear the English to the other nationalities on holiday there.Thankfully they spent the majority of the day on the beach but it was quite obvious when they had arrived either by the pool or at dinner. Other than this irritation the whole week was one of relaxation and spoiling, and I would recommend this hotel and will certainly be returning.

From the moment your greeted with a glass of bubbly in the exquisitely retro designed 70's recepyion you know your in for a treat. The grounds are just big enough for a lovely adult only spa pool ,outdoor gym jacuzzi area large main pool area and lovely kids play room and pool. There are abuout a million palm trees in the grounds and although compact, beautifully maintained. The food is amazing , the breakfast and lunch buffets are full of both quanity and quality. If you can't find anything for you then go to macdonalds because this is good food. If you want to go out for evening dinner you can exchange your evening buffet for a 3 course lunh round the pool . ( i put on nearly 5 kgs! pig) The drinks are a bit pricey from round the bars but it is a 5 star remember. The beach and sanddunes are 1 minute straight out of the reception , and go on for miles. Restaurants on the front to the right are typical spanish grub( photos on the menu) but if you walkpast these for about 5 mins there is a lovely newer area with designer shops and lovely restaurants.I would go back, soon hopefully 30 every day, its raining here! boo
p.s vivit palmitoes park . you wont regret it . visit Sparkles drag sow in play del ingles, well funny and filthy

This was our first visit to this hotel and we hope it won't be our last. From arriving at the hotel in a stretch Mercedes (provided as part of the Thomson package) we were waited on hand and foot. The attention to detail is superb e.g. there are spin dryers placed around the pool area for your swimwear after a dip in the pool; a maid turns down the beds every night; the waiters pour your wine for you during your meals; the hotel manager personally greets every guest and walks round the dining area every morning and night to have a word with everyone, etc., etc. Maybe this is the norm for a five star hotel, but for us it was absolute luxury. It was so peaceful too, until our last day, when a large, noisy family arrived and started complaining about everything from their rooms to the beer!!!!!!!!! There's just no pleasing some people. is there?

this is our second time back at this hotel. even though it can be expensive for half board. but the staff and surrounding are spectaular. i cant down this hotel for anthing. every one was so nice. so pleasant. even the bell boys couldnt do enough for you.
but on our last day there. we had to help ourselves out with our cases. which i taught was unusual. but apart from that lilltl hipcup no complains what so ever. need a holiday to relax in maspalmoas this is the place to go.

Stayed at this Hotel from 27June until 4 July. Our 11 year old nephew was also along with us. We booked a premier holiday with falcon holidays. On arrival at the airport we were met by the rep and immediately taken to our private taxi transfer which took us direct to the Hotel in a private mercedes. On arrival at reception our cases were taken care of and we were allocated our room quickly without any fuss and we were taken to our room which had a sea view as requested. The room was very nice but space was limited due to the single bed which was put in for our nephew, not complaining but this makes the double room that much smaller. The bathroom was very nice and had a great selection of toileteries etc and the shower was fantastic. Everything in the room was perfect and in good order. The hotel also left us complententary water and fruit on our arrival. The food was fantastic and had a great selection for breakfast and dinner. Each night the menu was posted for the following day. The hotel prepares a fantastic barbeque on three evenings and on the other evenings you have a sit down 5 course meal. The beauty about this is that you can change your dinner for lunch if you prefer. This allowed us to eat out on some nights as our nephew did not like the set dinners. Nothing wrong with them and the selection of meats etc were of a very high standard. The pool area was fantastic and you did not have to search for a sunbed no matter what time you came down to the pool. The hotel had pool staff who placed the towels and bed for you. You cannot come down early and place towels on beds which was fantastic. There is two pools and one does not allow young persons at it. There is activities on around the pool during the day. The staff are fantastic and nothing is troublesome for them. Most of the people at this hotel are German and of a more mature age. I cannot fault this Hotel and it is one of the best that I have stayed in. It is in a great location and close to the beach and shops which are mostly designer. This area is upmarket so there is no larger louts about and you get no hassle from anyone. If I am going back to Gran Canaria I would definately be looking to stay here again .

This is without doubt a very fine hotel. It is in a fantastic location right next to the famous maspalomas dunes where you can walk for miles along the seafront. and now that there are a number of other five star hotels nearby the location has a real quality feel to it with good quality shops nearby for clothes, shoes, jewelry, perfumes etc,
The gardens are absolutely stunning, and the pools are both large and uncrowded, with a relaxation pool heated to 28 degrees, and being kept child-free! There is also a welcome ban on mobile phones around the pools, so real holiday makers can actually get away from their normal busy lives!
The one thing though that makes this hotel really special are the staff, who unlike many hotels really do give a damn about your holiday experience, and will do anything for you.
The only slight drawbacks are that the hotel is very heavily biased to German tourists (though all of the hotel staff speak perfectly good english it is still slightly annoying that it is assumed you are german), the bathrooms are very small for a 5 star hotel, and the meals have a "formal" feel to them, with correct attire required! Oh, and the "entertainment" is great if you like ballroom dancing and duets sung in broken english!
On balance though this really is a fantastic quality hotel in an idylic location, and as long as you are not expecting the bright lights you will be blown away by all of the positive things this hotel has to offer!
