We stayed at the hotel complex for 10 nights, on three of those nights we ate at the Ovo Restaurant which is situated in the square of the complex.
You could either eat indoors or out with a glass separator keeping you away from the elements (fine weather for the 10 days we were there). From here you could watch the entertainment in the square.
As the Italian Restaurant was closed, Ovo were producing food from the Italian menu as well as their a la carte menu.
The menu covered all tastes with fish, meat and vegetarian options covered.
On our first visit my partner had the tenderloin of beef in an olive and tomato crust, whilst I went for the spinach and ricotta ravioli, prior to the main meal being served, breads were server with flavoured butter (very tasty) as well as a small starter just to get you in the mood, also a glass of cava was served when you arrived at your table (a nice touch). When the food arrived I was a little disappointed with the size of the ravioli dish, but I did have several mouthfuls of my partners beef tenderloin, this was excellent and came with gratin potatoes and veg. For afters we both went for the moose (two balls of chocolate mousse) this was very rich and filling, and was a perfect end to the meal.
On our second visit, this time I went for the tenderloin of beef and my partner went for the same again, this meat melted in your mouth and was the best beef I have ever tasted, not one bit of fat on it, again we went for the mousse, again the food was top quality and two cleared plates said it all.
On our third visit we tried a fish dish, Stone Bass with mojo, this was very tasty and there were two portions of fish on the plate cooked to perfection, as well as the mojo and caramelised onions and veg, this time I didn’t go for a pud but my partner went for the crème brulee with vanilla ice cream, I of course had to have a little taste and it was perfect, it was quite a good portion.
The service was excellent and the cost was also very good, with the tenderloin meal around 20 Euro’s, there were many wines to choose from, but we are not wine drinkers and stayed with the water.
If you are staying at the hotel, they do advise you to book the OVO the day before, we managed to book it on the same day three times, but we were lucky I guess.
