We only chose to dIne here as we trIed to book at Ambassador for our ChrIstmas Eve meal and were told there would be no problem. It was too late for us to post our reservatIon so we dropped by the hotel wIth our form on 22nd Dec. There we were told we had to waIt untIl 5pm and gIve our form In at another desk. Not wIshIng to waIt a good number of hours we left. As we were told there would be no problem. However, when we turned up there were no spaces left. And we were dIsappoInted as I had emaIled ahead. They coukd have just acceptedbour reservation at the front desk and contact ed me if no spaces werw available.
We decIded to dIne at The Ocianis restaurant whIlst we werw already there and It was empty, very calm and peaceful with large glass windows overlooking the promenade and part of the pool. The decor whIte and quIte mInImalIst. We were warmly greeted by friendly attentive staff and felt looked after throughout our meal.
We had clams, a shellfish bisque and then hake and monkfish stew which also had prawns, potatoes, langoustines in a tomato based sauce with peppers. This was enough for two people. The fish was all cooked beautifully and the langoustines were especially delicious
I have two minor crItIcisms. The orange juice was from a bottle and I would have thought a restaurant in a world class hotel would have served freshly squeezed juice as standard. The food was a little underseasoned however this was easily remedied ourselves and we felt it was better than it being overseasoned and therefore irredeemable.
The total bill came to 64 euros and included a large larger. We felt it offered overall good value and would recommend it, especially if you like yoir fish cooked superbly.
