Me and my husband came to stay at the hotel 2 weeks ago, it was our first holiday abroad on our own.
We got to the hotel quite late in the night, it was about 12 o clock, we were met at reception by two spanish men, who were very friendly. After travelling for some time, we were thirsty, and asked one of the men if we could get a drink as the bar was shut. He couldnt have been more nice to us, he got us a drink straighaway and told my husband that if he wanted a drink after the bar had shut while we were staying there, then all he had to do was ask!
The view from the room was brilliant - we could see the lighthouse and part of the castle from it. Although the balcony faced the hotel car park, it didnt really matter because you dont go on holiday to spend all the time in your room do you?
The room was very basic (but for one star accomodation, what do you expect??), but was immacualtely clean. We had cleaners in every day and they were friendly too - even if they coulsnt speak english, they gave us a smile! lol
The pool was lovely, the bar staff were lovely, and we werent that far away from the town centre, and the beach.
The things that i wasnt too happy about was the noise, the walls are way too thin, and you can hear everything that the people in the next room are saying, you can hear toilets flushing and doors shutting, but, like i said before, you dont go on holiday to spend all your time in your hotel room do you?
The food was nice, but i do think that there could have been a little more variety for the breakfast, there wasnt much variety, and i am diabetic, so obviously, i have to have a varied diet, and eat as healthily as i can. I so admit i was getting a little fed up of ham and cheese by the third morning, but there were plenty of cafes around, so if you wanted something else then you could get the variety there.
For saying it was our first holiday alone, we had a great time, and i do think we would go back to marina tossa - i would suggest they sorted out the breakfasts tho.
We would definately come back to tossa de mar, as it is such a beautiful place, and everyone is so friendly.

We weren't sure what to expect because it had a low rating but it was excellcent value for money. We stayed half board and the food was brilliant, the evening meals varied each night as well. The rooms were really clean and kept clean by staff. Our room had a balcony and i would recommend that you get a room with a balcony even if it costs slightly more.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was great, it was set in nice gardens with plenty of room and plenty of sun loungers. The hotel also has 2 tennis courts, table tennis and pool tables. The hotel was situated 10-15mins walk from the beach in a quiet location but it is definatley worth the walk. Tossa de Mar is also a gorgeous place to stay, it is so lovely and i would thoroughly recommend it and the hotel . Overall, the hotel was excellcent value for money and we would definatley return. I miss staying there!

Love this area of Catalunya and having been to Tossa for a day trip we fancied a longer stay.
We didn't expect too much but boy were we surprised!!
The food was brilliant, no complaints.
The pool and lounging area was never packed and to make it sound even better we arrived on 22nd July!!
The staff were friendly and the guests were multinational.
The rooms are basic and the bathrooms are in need of modernisation its true, but everything worked.
The only slight downer was the arrival of a school party on the last but one day. We did have cause to complain to the teachers in charge but this sorted the noise/frivolity out.
Apparently this hotel has lots of school/youth parties booked in so if you can, check before you book. The party there when we were, were quiet according to the manager !!
The resort is quiet, laid back and we thoroughly enjoyed the holiday.

We originally booked to stay at some horrible 'Costa Pontins' at San Eloy - MedPlaya (Don't go there!). We checked straight out and drove around to find somewhere to stay. The Hotel Marina was very inviting and we enquired at reception who happily accomodated us.
The pool was the best thing and no queueing for sunbeds. Rooms very clean, bathrooms basic but functional. Breakfast was more than adequate. We couldn't believe it was only a 1*. We think as it didn't have tv or air conditioning in the rooms, it may have been the reason. After our nightmare at San Eloy, we asked to see these rooms first. Definitely would book again if in the area. The beach was gritty, but the castle was spectacular!
