Our second visit to Tossa del Mar and our second stay at the lovely Hotel Capri. It felt like returning home, wonderful to see the staff once more as well as guests from last year. You can't beat the restaurant for excellent value and wonderful regional fish dishes we headed to France after Tossa del Mar and wished we had stayed the prices were half the price! This year we had a second floor room which was lovely, the view once more amazing (best view in Tossa) and the hotel is away from the big resorts and noise so a good nights sleep is gtd.

Great location overlooking the beach, staff are extremely friendly and very helpful, owners always on hand if there is a problem or just for a chat. Have stayed in this hotel many times over the past ten years and have never had one complaint. The rooms are spotless and the restaurant serves wonderful, authentic, well priced meals and Tapas.

We stayed at the Capri Hotel for a romantic weekend away from Barcelona. The view was incredible and the location was perfect. The service was great. The staff were friendly and offered some useful tips about where to go hiking. There were no rooms on the 3rd floor left and I read a lot of good reviews about the terrace up there, but our 1st floor room still had a small balcony which was great for wine drinking and people watching. The bathroom was very clean! They had just put new TVs in the rooms and English channels were available. They also let us take showers in a spare bathroom in the late afternoon after we had checked out before returning to Barcelona by bus!
One small pet peeve: We requested "una cama matrimonal" or a double bed, and the room had two single beds pushed together, but I suppose that's pretty common in Europe.

I would certainly stay here again!

My wife and I (late 20's / early 30's) stayed at this hotel for four nights, but wished it could be longer. We pay the extra few Euros to get a third floor room overlooking the sea and it was well worth it. We slept each night with the sliding door open listening to the surf. After spending 10 days visiting Madrid and Barcelona, this was the perfect way to end our trip to Spain. The hotel itself was perfectly fine for us, not ritzy but very comfortable and again the location could not be beat.

Tossa itself is our favorite beach spot in Europe. Great restaurants and pubs with the friendliest people we've met in our travels. This is the only beach town in Europe we've been to more than once and will continue to make this a yearly trip. This town is a real hidden gem, hopefully it stays that way. There are too many great restaurants to list but we really enjoyed Chez Igor's and Dino's. We spent most nights at a pub just down the street from Hotel Capri called St. Antoni, and also the Tipic Pub. Both places have the best bartenders and are great places to finish up the nights.

We booked the Capri Hotel directly with the owners. The hotel itself is in a wonderful position and we were very fortunate to have a third floor sea view room with terrace overlooking the bay - this was wonderful. There was plenty of staff and in the main they were friendly but little things such as having to request a hairdrier we found annoying - should be in the room already. The room itself was ok, certainly not plush and if anything a little tatty around the edges. The cupboard which was supposedly the wardrobe had no shelves apart from one large rather grubby one and the bedside tables had seen better days - very rickety. The bathroom was grimy and had mildew in the grout and the whole bathroom needed either replacing/upgrading or even a real deep clean. The toilet/bidet were not clean under the rim - Yuk. Feel quite bad listing these gripes as previous reviews been more than complimentary - in our opinion - over generous. We personally would not stay in the Capri Hotel again.

Just got back from the Capri, and have mixed feelings about it. The view from the balcony cannot be bettered in Tossa, and is easily the most attractive feature of this hotel. I found the room to be tired and dated - it really needs some money spending on it to bring it up to todays standards. The bathroom was adequate without any special features. Breakfast was pleasant, with the usual assortment of fresh breads, meats, cereals and cheeses, and could be taken outdoors if suitable, which was a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. This hotel is ideal if you consider the view to be of paramount importance, but if you require a more comfortable, modern room there are hotels in less favourable locations which would do the trick. Overall, a good stay, but not as good as it could be.

My girlfriend and I stayed in June in a third floor ocean view room with balcony. Definitely worth getting the top floor for a little extra money - the view is what makes this very good hotel spectacular. Each balcony has two chairs and a small table, so there's plenty of room - though the corner rooms have larger balconies. The rooms are in good shape and decent size, though nothing special. We did not have daily cleaning service - don't know if this is available. Morning breakfast is good, though don't wait until the end or else options may be limited. Even so, there's an amazing bakery 20 feet from the door (heading away from the beach) with a huge selection of inexpensive and amazing pastries. The hotel is nestled right on the beach, and in the historic, older section of Tossa - less touristy and far more charming. Front desk clerks are very friendly, and we will definitely be returning to this hotel soon.
