“Don't waste your money!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

Myself and my wife had our 10th anniversary at this Hotel, and arrived from Birmingham on 14 September.
Had been in touch with Ferran the guest services manager prior to visiting and asked for high floor pool facing which was honoured with a complimentary bottle of wine in Room 563.
Now the disappointment...
Breakfast is served cold and inedible, and this continues through to lunch and dinner, the main reason for this is there is only one ( LUKE WARM) servarie that is meant to feed 600+ guests at one time, food is of a mis match standard and poorly replenished.
On speaking to other guests, who are used to a 4**** Service this hotel would be ranked as a 3*** as it's lacks the finesse of a 4**** Hotel, the facilities are of a good standard with the indoor pool, gym and spa, however the food, entertainment, beds and towels were of a poor standard.
Some staff members would look straight through you when you queued at the bar or cafe, but didn't have the same attitude to its Spanish and German guests.
All in all a complete waste of £1000.00, and when compared to 4 star hotels like Bahia princess and guayarmina princess in Tenerife and the likes of Lopesan hotels in Gran Canaria, this Hotel really needs to up its game before it looses it's 4th star!!!!!

We stayed foe a week half board at the Golden Bahia, I agree totally with previous review from Iba2907 . The hotel is lovely, nice clean rooms ,lovely pool area although the outdoor pool is very cold so we made use of the lovely warm indoor pool.
Now the food......breakfast cannot be faulted it offered everything you could want it was nicely presented, freshly cooked eggs and omelettes were available every morning.
The evening meals were appalling , variety was poor , cheap cuts of under cooked meat, other food was cold and had to be warmed it the microwave. The jacket potatoes were nice but you don't want them every night......chips were cold and tasted as though they had been cooked in dirty old fat .
This hotel doesn't deserve the Thomson platinum rating or 4* which is a shame the food seriously lets it down

Room Tip: request a pool view

Just come back from Tossa de Mar. Golden Bahia is a lovely hotel with good facilities but the food served at dinner is poor. It is not what you would expect from a four star platinum hotel, you can fill up with food but we only had one evening meal that was up to 4 star standard. We were served jacket potatoes 5 nights in a row with chips being the other potatoes option, the food was never hot, the grilled meats were tough and often undercooked. Staff were often slow to refill empty trays of food. Breakfast was always good but they need to up the standards on the evening meal urgently. The only other problem was the towels in the room, they were well worn and hard. The rooms themselves were nice and the hotel is very clean. Because of the food and the towels we would only rate it as a 3 star hotel, we hope they improve as everything else was good.

Just come back from a week at the Golden Bahia. Overall this is a very clean, well run hotel with friendly staff. Room's are of a standard size, reasonably modern, clean, and more than adequate.

There are 3 swimming pools (2 outdoor and 1 indoor), and all were very quiet.

There was a wide range of food in the restaurant, which was of a good quality and changed daily - as you would expect from a costal resort there's lot's of fish. Restaurant was well managed, with drinks being good value for money (Beer = 2 Euros).

The Golden Bahia is enclosed by roads from all directions (not much noise), so would recommend you requesting a pool view, unless you want your balcony looking out onto a road!!

The roof top is an excellent sun bathing location, and you can just see the sea from some points.

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk through town to the beach (where the Old Town is also located). Nearest supermarket is a 2 minute walk, and the bus station (with very regular services to Barcelona for 22 euros return is just a couple od minutes away).

Couple of small negatives.... Wi-Fi is only available in the reception area, and although is free it's very slow!...... you have to rent the safe in your bedroom (6 euro / week)... and like all the hotels in the area you have to pay tourist tax on arrival; (circa 10 euro's for a week).

Room Tip: Pool view, on 5th floor

what a great place to stay. hotel spotless. cleaners still going at 10 in the evening. room usual spainish layout. clean and tidy. our room overlooked the pool which was fab. lots of sun beds. pool freezing but that's the usual. but once your in its great. food fantastic. not 1 night did we think the food was rubbish. all lovely and well seasoned. we were half board so some days we ate at 1 of the 2 resturants on site or walked down to the local supermarket which was 5 mins away for some baquettes. wine I thought was nice and at 2 euros a glass not to dear. vodka and sprite was though at 5. 50. intertanment is the best ive seen with at act nearly every night. the magian was excellent, his assistant well god know were she actually fitted. youll know what I mean if you see it. animation team were fab and keep people entertained morning noon and night. I loved the dance part at 2 o'clock over the bridge. people were even dancing in the balcones. the animation and restarunt staff are a really credit to the hotel. the town of tossa itself well what can I say outsatanding and beautiful are words that come to mind. no crowds of girls or boys pub crawling in and out of cheap bars here, very much a family town with lots of lovely shops and eaterys. the castle is fantastic all you wanna do is keep taking pics of your family and it scause its so unusal to have that kind of thing in a spainish resort. so so miss being there and cant wait to go back

Was really looking forward to this hotel after all the rave reviews. Ir was big, clean with nice staff. The food was cold and inedible, the entertainment was appalling. And this is supposed to be a Thomson Platinum hotel. The all inclusive is a catch, because there are things in the capri bar by the pool that you cannot order off the menu unless you pay.

Had nice piano bar (best part) with Luciano singing at night.

Never ever again to spain, everything was closing up in the town at 8 o'clock at night and even the busy restaurants along the front didn't serve very good food. (Obviously had to eat out because of the appalling greasy cold food in the hotel).

Room Tip: Room overlooking pool. Gets lots of evening sun.

We travelled to Tossa with Siesta Coaches. We left Thurrock at 1pm and arrived at the Bahia 10am the following day. Our party consisted of my husband myself, our daughter and her three children aged 18, 12, and 9. We had lovely rooms overlooking the swimming pools. The food in the restaurant was excellent. One of the children had a very restricted diet and food he was allowed to eat was specially prepared for him at breakfast and dinner. We never had a problem finding sun beds and umbrellas round the pool. I am sorry to see some bad reviews but as this is a family hotel i would assume you would expect children! We stayed during August and did not find 'screaming children' to be a problem. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely return again to the Bahia. It was our third time In Tossa de Mar and we find it to be a pretty and interesting place.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a room overlooking the pools!
