“Really good family holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

Just back from a week All Inclusive at the San Eloy.
Rooms are basic but very clean and have everything you need.
Pools are a great size and again are clean with plenty of sun beds.
The restaurant food is plentiful and of really good quality with good choice.
Didn't have much from the snack bar but can say the sandwiches and chips were fine but the burgers and hotdogs weren't great.
The drinks on the AI package were fine and available up to midnight. Most of the staff were really friendly with 1 or 2 exceptions.
There were activities for adults and kids alike all day long which were very popular. There was entertainment each night which was hit and miss but always energetic and enthusiastic.
There was a good mix of nationalities and everyone seemed to mix quite well.
Tossa da mer is a lovely town only a 20 minute walk or 2 minute bus ride away.
There were a few negatives that wouldn't take much to put right. The mini golf is really out dated, there are no nets in the football goals or the basketball hoops. The downstairs snack bar could do with a lick of paint. These are minor things which wouldn't take much to put right but would make an overall difference.
This is a great place for a family holiday and that's exactly what it delivers.
For those couples who came here and complained, you really only have yourselves to blame. 10 minutes research would tell you this is a family hotel.

Having just returned from the San Eloy i can confirm that most of the previous comments are quite accurate. On arrival the check in reception is really a small little hut and not like most of us are used to, but it was quick and painless. The rooms are a little hit and miss with regards to getting your desired spec although ours was fine, consisting of a small lounge/kitchenette,bathroom, and one large bedroom with two double beds. The rooms are quite dated but clean and just about adequate for a weeks stay. No A/C in the room can be very stifling at night although a fan can be hired for around 20 euros a week.
Food consists of snack bar open most of the day and the main restaurant which we found to be spot on, with plenty to choose from at a good standard for a 2-3 star hotel. The two swimming pools were clean and warm but rather deep for most familys, although there is also a small toddlers pool which my daughter loved splashing around in. The entertainment at night was a good mix of kids and adults entertainment performed by the hard working young reps. (although the sound system is on its last legs)!!!
The general atmosphere was really great with friendly staff and a good mix of european familys (not just the usual brits on the pi** that ruin it for everyone.
The hourly bus takes you into Tossa de Mar and i highly recommend it, the little town is lovely, with a good mix of shops, bars and restaurants all reasonably priced, a visit to the old castle is a must and if you hit the the beach be aware its not soft sand and the breakers can be a bit fierce, but its a really great place.
So to sum up, a really great little hotel that needs a good spruce up, but i guarantee you'll have a good time and my only personal gripes are that you have to go into town to buy your daily paper, and the WIFI is dire, but if youve got kids and are on a budget give it a go....!!

Me an my partner returned yesterday from a week at the San Eloy. If you are a family on a budget looking for an all inclusive holiday then I'm sure this place is fine, however if you are anything apart from that like a couple looking for a nice hotel, good food and a relaxing break then this is NOT the place for you! The food is basic, over cooked and generally tasteless, the hotel is geared up for children so you will find every form of entertainment is aimed at them, I can only compare it to that of what I imagine a Spanish Butlins for children would be like. On the upside the town of Tossa de Mar is beautiful, very picturesque with a 14th century castle, lots of shops, Spanish bars offering authentic Spanish food (we found a tapas bar that served stunning food) I would thoroughly recommend the town, which is where we spent most of our day escaping the noise of loud music been played on repeat all day and kids dive bombing in the pool. There is a bus that goes from the hotel San Eloy to the town of Tossa (free if your all inclusive or 1 euro each way if not) this service runs up until 9pm so if you want to stay out in the evening past 9pm then you face a 30 minute walk back on an unlit main road then through woodland back to the hotel, for some reason there are no taxis in Tossa de Mar!? So in the evening at the hotel you are faced with 2 choices, stay in your room, or go down to the bar/entertainment area where they put on countless kids shows and themed evenings - again aimed at kids. The rooms whilst spacious (if you are a couple) are very basic with a TV as small as a postage stamp -really not acceptable in this day and age (especially when a guy might want to catch a bit of a World Cup game!) There is no air conditioning, wifi will cost you 20 euros for the week, limits you to 1 person using it at a time(i1 device) and the speed and reliability is the worst I have ever experienced! Overall we didn't enjoy our stay and won't return to the hotel San Eloy, but will probably return to Tossa De Mar an stay in Tossa itself at one of the many hotels that cater for adults and couples.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor where you have your own private balcony.

This hotel has been extensively reviewed so I will just post a couple of comments.
1. The wifi is expensive and unreliable. Others have commented on this as well.
2. The food is basic, plentiful but frustrating. This is Spain so lets eat more Spanish....
3. In the apart 1 rooms the TV is the size of a postage stamp and has only 1 English channel, cnn. They can do better in this day and age.
4. Silly rules governing all inclusive guests. No free tea or coffee etc before 10.30 am apart from in the dining room.
5. Noise was a problem each night. If there is a curfew it is not enforced.
6. The bus into town leaves one well short of the beach. A long walk is required.

Room Tip: A new lift has been installed so top floor best bet for quietness

Dear leminier
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us at the Aparthotel San Eloy.
We are sincerely very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the hotel in general, as well as the services and facilities. At the San Eloy, we do our very best to offer our guests the best possible holiday experience and the Manager and her staff are keen to receive feedback from our guests whilst they are staying in the hotel in order that any problems experienced might be rectified on the spot - we are sorry that it does not appear that this was possible in this instance.
In general, we receive very good feedback regarding the San Eloy and we are sorry to hear that it was not the best hotel to suit your requirements.
We hope that in spite of this, your overall stay in Tossa de Mar was enjoyable
Kind regards
Sue

Just got back today from a great holiday. I loved the food and there was a great variety of it too. The staff were always helpful, friendly and polite. Most staff knew 3 languages at least. The apartments were ideal for sleeping in, having a coffee, getting ready; they're not for living in day to day, having family meals etc. but then again we were hardly in the apartment. Entertainment was spot on. Plenty of activities for those who want them. Tossa de Mar lovely town and I recommend the old town for fab sightseeing. Llorett is nearby, as is Marineland. Lots of swimming pools too. There is a lift which is handy. We went all inclusive and were not disappointed.
No lads getting wrecked every night, lots of families, nice atmosphere; we highly recommend it and will happily go back again.

just home from a week all inclusive .we booked with low cost holidays.got a great deal..the reception staff are excellent on arrival.we were a family of 5. kids aged 5,12,18.we had a 2 bed suite. which was 1 bedroom apartment in my opinion.two double beds in the room.the bedroom was big thank god.but i taught this is strange.my eldest son slept on the sofa .there was a mini kitchen .no cooker if self catering. but a toaster ,microwave if needed.rooms very clean.only problem i came across was towels in most rooms were changed every day but not ours.3 days later ours was changed.got talking to lady .she told that depending on what travel company you travel with and how much your paying depends on towel change.but every day my hubby would ask for fresh towels.never a problem.the bar staff were excellent especially sam. always helpful.the snack ,burgers, cheese ,ham toast, chips .were excellent.the food in restaurant was great.but varied daily.i always taught the lunch was far better than the dinner.they close bang on time in both bar and restaurant .restaurant manager was always grumpy never even said hello.bad image for the hotel.chef was always smileing and saying hello when in restaurant.staff excellent .place spotless.my children just loved this place.because of the entertainment team especially barry and issam who all my kids loved.they worked so hard to keep the kids and adults happy.there shows were also brilliant and some funny shows.the drinks in bar were all local drinks.so tasted different.but ok.we had a lot of rain while there.they need to invest in a covered outdoor area.as there were far to many people to squeeze into the snack bar area.as the entertainment was done here if raining.no sky tv .big problem for the sport fanatics.very little coverage of world cup.tv in room had only 5 channels.only english channel was cnn.repeated constantly.they also need to invest in ac as only ac in restaurant at very back. this is a great place for a safe family holiday.the free bus to town is a bonus on all inclusive..

Room Tip: i was told by people in the bar that the suites were the biggest room.there on the middle floor
