“Hotel Miami is the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

Came back two weeks ago. Staff are great fun and really helpful, Carlos the manager is so helpful and resolved some issues we had with parking. Billy the nightporter can tell you all you need to know about Tossa and surrounding area and is great fun for a chat.The rooms are spotless and attractive in a traditional spartan Spanish way. Beds were extra comfy.You get a big sunny balcony (in most rooms) which is difficult to get in the older town but it is only two minutes walk away.Great bar downstairs to hang out and watch the world go by. The chicken was great and drinks are very reasonable; the wine is lovely. Breakfast is fine, plentiful and keeps you going. Miami is a proper family run hotel with a lovely atmosphere and for the price you pay it is amazing value. I cannot understand the last reviewer's comments! And by the way english speakers, if you are going to go to Tossa at least learn to say hello, good-day etc in the local lingo,otherwise go to Llorett!!! Hola! and Mucha Gracias to Carlos, Carlos' Dad, Billy, Maria, Miguel, Rosa and everyone else at lovely Miami. We will be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room when booking.

We stayed there for 1 week holiday in the summer 2011. Alhough we didn't expect too much for price 41 eu/night, we were very disappointed with the standard. Miami hotel looks like there was no refurbishment for the last 40 years (since it was built).

Advantages:
+ friendly staff;
+ working TV;
+ cleaning every day;
+ internet in the main hall for coins.

Disadvantages:
- very bad smell from old, built-in wardrobe (basically you cannot put any clothes inside unless you don't mind if your things stink) and also blankets were saturated with that awful smell;
- dirty, greasy rubber-made curtains;
- very basic breakfasts (forget about eggs, good quality meat or even jam, instead of that you will get cheap salami and marmelade);
- very old bathroom, dirty in the corners;
- darkness: there were only 3 small (40V) bulbs for whole room and bathroom;
- makeshift painted walls (as in the photos);
- safety: there was very easy to get from one room to another - no real barieer between them;
- very old and used up furniture;
- noise! (because of thin walls you can easily hear people from next room), noisy streets around the hotel;

Room Tip: The worst are rooms in the west side - view is on the wall of next bulding. All neighbours can see y...

for the money (£20) per room you just cannot fault it;stayed 4 nights and used it as a base to explore the area;staff a bit quirky but nice enough,we had a balcony overlooking the road,and maid service every day.breakfast typical spanish, but as i said £20 !!!!
but the best bit for motorcylists is the garage which they allowed us to use for free!.
this price is for end of season but we were lucky with the weather for mid oct .

Hi we just returned home to ipswich on the 14/9/2011 from this hotel, it was spotlessly clean the staff were very friendly especially Billy the night reception guy from dublin ( hi billy from i.t.f.c) he was the most helpful person i have met on all my travels abroad so if you need to know anything he's your man . The breakfast needs updating you do get bored of rolls and ham every day, but hey for the money we paid i can suffer that one exception, just when your out eating at some of the resturants check the price of the drinks as we found some we were paying 4 euro's 50 cents for a pint . A Chinese buffet just along the road (left as you come out of the hotel) outstanding value and first class food, the beach was 5mins walk no hills in either direction , the beach was beautiful and spacious but not crowded, the bus station 2min walk right as you come out of the hotel, 1euro 55cent to go to lloret le mar 20mins on bus , if you want to go to Barcelona but your ticket from the lloret le mar bus station rather than Tossa bus station you will save yourself about 8euro's ahead. We would seriously think of going to this hotel again, maybe they will have changed the breakfast a little. I hope this information has been useful if you need any more e-mail me at i.t.f.c_nigel@hotmail.com and i will gladly answer any queries. If you read this Billy your a top man. Room Tip: get a front elevation room

My husband and I satyed here for 4 nights in September. I read the reviews and knew that you get what you pay for. It is a cheap hotel so don't expect anything fancy. We were given a room that had a balcony facing the back of someones house so we had no view and therefore didnt use it! The old metal shutter also didn't work so we left it down. (However the management did come and fix the said shutter although we hadn't mentioned it so that was a plus!) The other problem was ANTS in the beds!!!! They were coming in from the balcony. We heard the couple next door also complaining to each other about this so this must be an issue! Not nice when you feel something crawling over you through the night.... It is also EXTREMELY noisy. The walls are paper thin and you could hear every conversation in the adjacent rooms. If someone turned on a tap or flushed the loo in the night you heard it. All in all, yes the hotel is cheap and basic. It is worth paying abit more for a decent nights sleep without the creepy crawlys and hearing your neighbours toilet habits in detail!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a decent balcony. At least with a view!!

This hotel is a 10 minute walk from the beach and ideally located for people who wish to explore more of the Costa Brava by bus. The bus station is just up the road and access to Lloret de Mar, Barcelona and other lovely places is made very easy. The staff at reception are extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms are clean and simply furnished. We returned today from a week's stay and I have to say that Tossa de Mar is a very stylish resort, with its narrow cobbled streets, gorgeous cafes and restaurants, haunting panpipe music wafting from the beach up into the old town during the evening and the general ambience it exudes. The hotel matches the town. You feel comfortable in both!
