“Should do better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2014

Lovely building with museum in basement with other floors an art gallery. Given that it was only the museum that I was interested in, I was quite disappointed. A leaflet in English didn't really explain the exhibits, and there was no other information in English available. Very poor really, or maybe they don't expect us Brits to be interested in such things.

“Art gallery”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Its placed in the lovely castle area and nice to pop in and have a look round. The curator was very friendly and spoke good English. Some roman artefacts but really an art gallery.

“small but interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

The museum is worth going to, although it is quite small, the admission isn't much. We liked the roman floor most, the rest was pretty much just paintings. There are quite a lot of steps but you can leave buggys by admission desk.

“Don't miss the Chagall!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Most of the museum's pieces are quite pedestrian, but the archeological display is interesting and the Roman mosaic excellent. Best of all, the Chagall "Celestial violinist" that almost floats away with joy

“More English needed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

It is worth visiting this little museum and we were impressed for the 3euro admission price. Luckally we had read the reviews on here before we went so were prepaired for it to be more like an art gallery. I would only call the basement floor a museum, with finds from the roman villa. The other 3 floors are all taken up by impressive artworks. Be aware that there is no English when inside the museum. You do get a leaflet in English but it is not a guide to what is in the museum. With some of the displays you can read the spanish and guess the meaning but there are no traslations of the large boards. Despite this it is still worth a look if you like art.
