To rate this restaurant I need to contextualize my feedback. Leiria is a medium size city, about 120km far from Lisbon (1h15 by car), with poor cultural offer or tourist offer, regardless the beaches. However in the past years the city and the community grew in several perspectives. Regarding gastronomy offers I may say that you won't be dissapointed with the offer, it will probably surpass your expectations. And Mandoline opened just in an instable economical time. Even though the quality food, plus the service, plus the freshness of the products, plus the menu offer, plus the serving, plus the environment, everytime I go there I really feel that I'm in a 5* hotel restaurant! The food is totally portuguese flavour with a french touch and serving. The environment is equally chiq and elegant but with a friendly approach and service all the time. Cod fish and the scallops dish is always a great choice. Concerning the desserts, the chocolate fondant is also a good choice. Unfortunately I'm not sure if the restaurant is still open (reasons already mentioned above) but it is (or was) one of the best restaurants in Leiria in a general evaluation.
