“Nice hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2009

The hotel is located centrally near the monastery. Free parking, big plus.
Rooms are clean. Bed mattress is very hard.
Nice breakfast.
Overall, we got a good deal there.

Alcobaca is boring- so you may decide to stay in another town.

we found this hotel 2006 and liked the so much that we made a point of staying there again this month. the best rooms are the ones that face over the monastry/square. its a slightly old fashioned type of hotel with very helpfull happy staff. we didnt expect to see the same receptionist but he told us that he had worked there 14 years. so it says something about a place when they can keep their staff that long.
rooms and hotel areas are quite plain but clean.
GREAT VALUE PLACE TO STAY.
we will be going to stay again.

Very nice hotel, free parking, across from the monastery. A bit dated, but fairly clean. Good deal for the price. The beds are quite firm, but that is a standard in Portugal. Would have liked a better view. Excellent price and a low price for the extra bed for our teenager. Very convenient. Nice breakfast.

  • Liked — Across from the monastery, very low charge for extra bed, clean.
  • Disliked — A bit dated.

We may have got the good rate as May is supposed to be a quiet month but this was not reflected in the service. It may be a little worn but the hotel is still of a good standard. Close enough to the town square to enjoy the atmosphere but far enough away to provide a quiet environment. The basement carpark was a bonus due to the narrow approach road. very helpfull staff - well recommended.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2007

We enjoyed a one-night stay in a comfortable, medium-sized room in this well-located, reasonably-priced hotel next to the monastery. Everything was in good condition and we had no complaints. The cable TV offerings are very limited. They have free parking on the ground floor under the hotel. We had a wonderful view of the monastery from our room window (see photo). The cold breakfast was simple but adequate - cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, rolls, coffee. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

  • Liked — comfortable, good value
  • Disliked — limited cable TV
