“Disappointing. But..nothing that cannot be changed”
I stayed at this villa in May 2013 with my family which included my parents who are both over 60 and my partially disabled brother. The villa itself is situated in extremely private domain and does have lovely views out to sea. When we hired the villa, the advert said that it was OK for restricted mobility, but I have since contacted the owner who has changed the advert to reflect this. Please though, be aware that there are approx 20 steps up to the villa from the driveway and a further 44 extremely steep steps up to the pool. The steps to the pool are not even, do not have handles or any form of assistance for anyone with small children. The villa does not promote a welcoming feel. There are notices stuck throughout the villa saying "DO NOT TOUCH" and "If you break this it will cost YOU £500". I think this could all be changed with softer words. There is no welcome note telling you where things are or how to operate items in the house. Also, some of the doors do not lock properly or securely. There are four bedrooms, two upstairs in the main house and two downstairs. You need to go outside and down the main steps to get to the bottom two bedrooms, so only suitable for teenagers or adults or if you are going to bed the same time as your children. The whole villa can do with a general clean outside - the BBQ was filthy and was not possible to use ( I don't mind cleaning the odd grate or things like that, but this BBQ was at least a 4 hour job). Not something you want to do on holiday. One other comment I would like to make is the WIFI/Computer. There is WIFI which you can connect to with Ipads/phones etc and there is a computer at the villa, however, it has restricted ability due to add ons being disabled so you cannot access internet mail or login to airlines to print off boarding passes. You will need to do this before you arrive at the villa or at an internet store in town. You need codes to get through the gates and the security are not there after 6pm (although this was sometimes 7pm). There is a number to call if you need the code, but the people do not speak very good english so it may take a while to get them to understand what you want.

The comments made by the guest 'candice s' which are a family related to the other review are welcomed by the owners and the issues raised will be investigated and rectified where possible.
The website and other listings will be changed to reflect the accessibility issues and we appreciate that this may not have been made clear in the property description or photographs. We are planning to post clearer images of the walk to the private secluded pool as it is set into a hillside. Railings on the garden path would not suit this type of botanical garden in this provençal property but we will review alternatives to provide better access for less abled persons. The owners will review the property description and photographs to ensure that all guests understand that there is no internal staircase in this property.
The property sits in the exclusive 2000 acre gated community of Cap Benat and the security gates are manned 24/7 by guards during the months from June to September. Whilst codes should not be necessary for guests staying during this period the management will look at the best way to provide them as a reassurance and back up.
Wifi is available in the property for all use and the issues with the desktop computer access shall be investigated to ensure safe usage for all guests. The owners apologise the heating failed on this occasion and it is the first time that this has been raised as an issue as it is rarely used. This has since been rectified and the management apologise for any inconvenience for the guests during this period.
As mentioned before, the property sits in the gated community of Cap Benat where a team of security personnel conduct regular security checks of the area. This is the first time that concerns have been raised regarding the secutiry of the property and these will be investigated by the management using the advice of the Cap Benat security team.
The management have experienced issues in the past with damage to the property and as a result felt it was necessary to stress the importance of respecting the property whilst enjoying their stay there. The comments regarding the notices made by this guests are welcome and the management will change the notices where possible and will look at alternative wordings or options of conveying the message.
The cleaning of the property is carried out by local personnel who help to prepare the property between guests departing and arriving. It is regrettable that on this occasion the BBQ grill was not cleaned and this issue has been address with our cleaning team to ensure that this area is cleaned regularly.
There was an information folder in the property and the management now believe that this may have been misplaced. As a result the management will create a new information book and welcome pack that will be made available in the property and via email if required.
