We passed by the other night and decided to end our weekend eating out at this trattoria. Warm welcome, quiet seating near the open kitchen, a few suggestions and a small menu with Italian dishes only, that is what we were looking for and what we got.
La mama is working in the kitchen, having followed an Italian cookery course in Lucca. The man in the house is talking passionately about the food, explaining the suggestions and telling us that some are not longer available tonight (a good sign of fresh food). His passionated talk goes on about his daughter, having married an Italian and working as an artist in Naples. She also decorated the place: nice and cosy. He helps us find a wine at our taste and offers us a grappa afterwards.
You can't go wrong with your choice: everything is fresh and very tasty: the passion is in the food! No french fries or rice, hurray!
There is also a large terrace to enjoy the sun, if we have any left in Belgium. Fingers crossed for the summer ahead.
