“Nature reserve in Flanders”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

The Zwin is the only nature reserve of Flanders. In the middle ages cames the ships along the Zwin to the port city of Bruges. But the Zwin silted, and in the 16th century was Antwerp the largest port in the world. Now you can admire all kinds of birds in the Zwin.

“Lots of birds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This is a great place to see storks as well as migrating birds. There is a nice cafe on site. Can take bus from Knokke Station. Allow 2 hours for visit.

“Sad”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

I know it is announced that there will be a major make-over of het Zwin and I believe it is high time and overdue! Was there yesterday and felt saddened by the 6 big owls (Uhoe) in very small cages. No animal deserves this. The whole looked forlorn and was not worth the 5 euro something they charge the way the park looks now.
