“Tiny unpretentious restaurant with very good food, modestly priced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

This tiny restaurant is a few minutes walk from the centre but still on the banks of the river. We chose it on the basis of the reviews in Tripadvisor. We were a bit unsure as it looked quite modest. However an excellent freebe amuse bouche of asparagus velouté and a home made terrine was served outside with the drinks. The steaks, lamb and cod dishes were all excellent and outstanding value for money. Generous portions with lovely sauces and side dishes - gratin dauphinoise, fries and a selection of seasonal veggies. Good wine served inexpensively by the carafe.

“the best in Bouillon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

Due to good reviews on TA we made reservations in this very nice little restaurant and it was worth it. Just relax and enjoy the delicious meals they serve here. Ask for chefs suggestions. Most is freshly made which also means that dinner takes whole evening. But there is nothing else to do in Bouillon, so thats okay.

“A fantastic surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

My husband and I visited Bouillon for a long weekend and we were impressed in many ways with our trip but this restaurant helped to make it even more special. We had no idea what to expect as the Les Remparts doesn't really stand out from the many other eateries in the town from the outside - but the food is a different story. It was outstanding.

The menu is heavy on meat and fish and you need some basic French to understand it but the friendly waitress was happy to help us. The starters we had were exceptional - huge, fresh fish salads with really tasty home made dressings. This came after a delicious amuse bouche and plenty of bread so you really need to starve yourself to make way for all the scrumptious food! Trout Ardennaise is a local dish I wanted to try and I was not disappointed - fresh, white, succulent fish came on a plate packed with delicate colourful vegetables avec frites of course. The wine list was not extensive but sufficient and reasonably priced.

Everything was fabulous, the best meal I have had in ages and such a nice surprise. The restaurant is small so book ahead. Definitely recommended for a romantic or cosy night out.

“Little pearl”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2011 via mobile

Fantastic small and coasy restaurant. Only room for 20 people ... nice. Large portions and fantastic food. We even got a mall starter included in the price :-)
