“Lovely!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012 via mobile

I just had a group of 60 there and the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating . They truly made my job easier. There were a few drawbacks - like no iron in the room but you quickly get over that when you see the view. Food was fabulous! I hope to return.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

We stayed here from April 15-18, it is an old establishment that sits high up on a hill in the wonderful town of Frascati. The staff tried there best to work with us given the language barrier, the free breakfast was wonderful, and the one dinner we ate in was fabulous. However, I rated the hotel as average for the following reasons. The room we stayed in was cold, not physically but without warmth, charm or much character. An awful old TV sit atop a tiny old refrigerator/mini bar, one desk and one hard desk chair, the beds were hard and the linens were poor, something we experienced in all the places we stayed while in Italy for a month. The bathroom sink was plugged, the shower door/curtain was a disaster and it was a mess of water to deal with. The hotel claims to have several restaurants but there actually rooms that can serve food and only the one was available and on very restricted schedule so we had to go to town for food, which was down the gorgeous road - straight down and the hike up will leave you crying. The shuttle service is available for $5 but only w/restricted hours. We used the spa and had a hard time because of our inability to speak Italian. The services were much more different than a spa in the US, I'd say it was worth the money but we never got a towel which was odd and difficult when your soaking wet w/only a robe - but still a good experience, just very different not as warm or private as the other spas I've used. As well, to use the inside pool/jacuzzi, saunas, etc. You have to pay a fee I (approx. $30 euro) it does not come with being a hotel guest, as it more of the spa than the hotel. Overall it was an average hotel, sitting high up on a hill (killer walk), in a historical bldg, that was brick and didn't have much warmth about it in its decor, rather ran down - but than its ancient.

Room Tip: I have no idea if we had a low quality room or if they are all like ours so you should inquire if yo...

Wow - what an amazing old villa that has to be in one of hte best locations. The rooms are small but larger than some branded chain hotels that I stayed at (and paid more for) when traveling. The atmosphere, room amenities and location certainly make up for the room size.

We had a conference on here over a weekend and found it perfect.

Location is great as well, just a short shuttle or cab ride to the centre of town.

We were lucky enough to be able to relax around the pool on the Sunday and look out towards the centre of Rome - simply stunning.

The only negative for me was no iron in the room and I ended up paying around 15euro for ironing, but I have since learnt that when traveling through Europe take a travel iron, especially if traveling for business.

I would definitely return to stay here, it is a heritage villa and such an amazing place to stay, who cares about a few little creaks and groans, buildings this old have an atmosphere of there own. I found it to have plenty of style and charm.
