“Fantastic ski resort. Beautiful place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012 via mobile

This is my favourite ski resort. I have stayed every year for the past 12 years. Wonderful ski area. The resort has good facilities, nice apartments and fantastic staff and service. Unbeatable.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2012

Service: Generally, it was quite good. I had to sleep in the sofa bed and could not figure out how to open it up. I called the reception desk and, within a couple of minutes, they sent someone from maintenance to show me. I would recommend the purchase of luggage racks. I don't expect a porter but I would have appreciated something to help us carry our luggage to the unit, especially since I was travelling with two seniors.
Sleep quality: Here, I have to give two scores. My mother informed me that the bed she slept on was the most comfortable she had ever slept on. On the other hand, the sofa bed I slept on was the most uncomfortable I had ever slept on. It was so hard, it was one step above sleeping on the floor.
Cleanliness: The receptionist told me that sheets are only changed for guests who stayed more than a week. Since we only stayed for 4 days, the sheets were not changed and towels were changed once.
Location: Beautiful views of Schladming, However, I wish we had a unit in the front of the building rather than in the back. Less than an hour to Salzburg and Grossgleckner High Alpine Road. Innsbruck would have been a 2.5 hour drive. Munich was 2 hours. The Salzburg and Styria area is just beautiful.
Rooms: Our room was clean and a good size. The kitchen was well equipped. Please buy a garlic press.
Value: Internet service was great and inexpensive (since the last hotel we stayed in before coming to the Alpine Club charged 35 USD per day!).
All-in-all, a very pleasant stay. I recommend the resort without hesitation.

Room Tip: It does no help to request a room in front. I tried 3 months before I arrived.

We would like to thank you for leaving a review for your recent stay with us at the Alpine Club and we are very pleased that you enjoyed your holiday experience. Our front desk team are more than happy to assist our guests regardless of their request. We do leave operating manuals in the rooms, which provide instructions for using equipment such as the sofa beds just in case they are needed. We do have luggage racks available in the lobby for each building however it may be the case that these were in use at the time by other guests. Linen is changed once a week for full week stays, however we are more than happy to provide additional housekeeping if requested at a reasonable cost. The Alpine Club has obtained an ISO certification and continues to work hard to implement its environmental policy.

We are extremely thankful for your feedback and we hope to see you again very soon.

We stayed one week in a unit including one bed room, the unit was very confortable including two balconies that one of them was with a view to the Dachsteins mountains.
The unit was very spacy including the kitchen (not full) but very usefull and enough
for us.
The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpfull.about the maintenance -we had a problem with the refrigerator (not cold enough) it taked two days to repair it.
We used to travel evry day from schladming to several parts of styria and tyrol it was wonderfull.
We recommend this resort !!!!!.

Just returned home from our 4th visit to The Alpine Club and it's still as good as it was the 1st time.
The accommodation is spacious, clean and has everything you need including spectacular mountain views if you're lucky enought to have a room at the front. The staff are friendly, efficient and have extensive knowledge of the area. There is an onsite restaurant where Daniel will look after you, a tennis court, swimming pool and sauna and also a games room for the kids.
I would recommend the use of a car as the resort is located up a steep hillside and it will also enable you to see lots of amazing places. There are plenty of locations to visit and things to do from horse riding and white water rafting to going to the Dachstein Gacier where you can ski even in summer, there are walks galore suitable for everyone and some beautiful scenery so a camera is a must.
I wouldn't want to give too much away about the beauty of the area as its something you have to enjoy yourself.
As you may gather my family and I are fans of The Alpine Club and everything it and Schladming have to offer.

This is a very comfortable, top class timeshare resort. The apartments are of the best quality as one would expect of Diamond Resorts International. All the staff are so very friendly and helpful and the restuarant serves excellent and well priced food. Only problem is that it is closed on a Tuesday.
There is only one problem and that is the fact that if you don't have a car then is is a bit isolated and the local bus service is sporadic. Otherwise it is to be recommended.
We had a one bedroom and it was very spacious with a good sized bathroom with very large bath with a shower over it. Bedroom and lounge had a balcony and they even provide a dryer rail for hanging up your washing. TV was a bit small though, although as you only got about two English language channels we didn't watch it much.

Room Tip: The best rooms are those with a mountain view.

Dear Daiches,

Thank you very much for your great comments, these are most appreciated. The restaurant closes on Tuesdays during mid season months only. From December 15th and over Easter, July and August the restaurant opens daily, kindly consult our Website for detailed information in this regard.

We totally understand that our guests preferred view is the Mountain View, regrettably this is subject to availability on a first come first served basis and we are therefore unable to guarantee.

We hope to welcome you again in the near future.

Best Wishes

We've stayed here at least 5 times and really like it.

the place is well equipped with a bar/restuarant, mini-market (with the emphasis on mini) and a decent swimming pool. Wifi in the rooms (chargeable) was also good.

The rooms are really well equipped although with one small lift in each half of the building it is often quicker to take the stairs.

We've eaten in the restaurant previously and it's ok, but no better than that. The pizza take-away option is really good though when you don't want to face the walk to the town. It takes a good 15 minutes of walking (downhill) to get there and uphill (of course) on the way back. it's steep and you do have to be quite fit to go for it.

A few of the ski rental places/schools pick you up from hotel and that is really handy. Failing that there is a bus just outside too. It is well served by public transport. After saying that, we've always rented a car.

Lovely views across the valley from the well-equipped rooms, but the choice of english-speaking channels is very limited.

Our room (307) was perfect for 2 couples. Kitchen, shower room (no bath) and 2 double bed rooms. Living room with combined dining area was cramped however had balcony as did both bedrooms. Fresh decor.

Room Tip: Make sure the room overlooks Schladming otherwise you'll be looking up a hillside? Room 307 had...
