Ok when looking for an out-of-town relaxation in a clean environment. Break fast was good, the rooms were just perfect. Neat and beautiful golf course. However, pool needs to be developed to accommodate kids around 5yrs.

This new resort opened last year is well worth the trip. It is located next to the yet to be opened Newmont gold mine. The resort has a beautiful 9 hole golf course, a crystal clean swimming pool with a new spa complex about to be completed (still under construction). The staff are very well trained and friendly. The food is excellent. It is not used during the week and so for a retreat or conference you have the whole place to yourself. It is about 3.5 hours from Accra by car. They have good electric power back up so there are no 'lights out' periods. Other amenities include tennis, an outdoor movie facility, along with other activities such as large scale scrabble and chess as well as badminton. All and all a nice find. We held a staff retreat for 3 days and the staff organized several events such as jogging, workouts, massages etc. However, wait till the spa is finished for a much better experience (estimated to be completed by September).

Room Tip: Room 3 in the two story complex is the executive suite and excellent with a separate office and meet...

I think the golf course should be better maintained, the tee boxes were overgrown as well as the fairways, generally restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful, overall nice place for relaxation and recreation

Reception at front desk was impressive and documentation swiftly processed and in no time was ushered to our rooms.

The golf course is challenging and also well taken care of.
The food was nice, especially lunch on Sunday.

The children enjoyed themselves with the many games, notably table tennis, lawn tennis, swimming and also scrabble in the park.

Had peaceful sleep, as we felt safe.

Room Tip: Rooms close to the swimming pool suffer noise from loud music at the poolside.

Good- warm, friendly, professional & welcoming staff. good food, good conferencing environment. good customer service. nite club played excellent music.serene and beautiful environment

Bad - place if far so if prices re reduced, it'll attract more visitors.(ii) Road from new Abirem to village should be constructed well to make it more motorable.(iii) Ensure water flows at all times (iv) check leakages of water closet.(v) get good and comfortable buses for bad roads.(vi) no ball boys for tennis. (vii) check AC & sink tap in Mawuena 3. more TV channels. DVD in every rooms. (viii) movable showers esp. for us ladies who couldnt wash down there well or provide pails.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2011

Our family has started a new tradition of spending Christmas in other locations besides HOME. This is our 2nd trip under this new family tradition and it was average. Since I have a teacher's background, I will simply list the 10 things I loved, the 10 things that need improvement and 10 questions that management/marketing may be able to answer.
=========================================================================
1.) The cleaniness of the surroundings/environments and the rooms was superb. Since this facility was built from the ground up one must appreciate the sacrifice and vision of the owner(s). It is truly a breath of fresh air.
2.) The design of the rooms and the estate is well thought out and vast. We truly had enough room everywhere we went.
3.) The garden boys/men are really taken good care of the lawn, flower beds and the Christmas decorations added a nice touch to the holidays.
4.) The rooms were cleaned very well. The choice of textiles and future was great but the sitting room might do best with darker upholstery the off white will be dirty very soon.
5.) The NO SMOKING signs in the rooms/suites are great!!!! I could smell that the person(s) who were last in the executive suite did not pay attention to any of those signs. The housekeepers must endeavor to report all of those folks that smoke whether they are in the standard or the executive rooms. This policy must be enforced properly.
6.) Your website is bright and colorful but you must add the new directions to the website. We passed Nkawkaw because we came on the bypass and there was no sign for Beige Village on the new bypass. Therefore, a lot of folks were lost that evening and I'm sure the evenings to come. This sign should have been placed a week or 2 before Christmas.
7.) The buffet concept for breakfast is great. It should continue but with sliced fruits and a choice of juice each morning. I've never seen a buffet for breakfast without fresh fruit.
8.) The bathrooms are great and I could have stayed in them all night. The fixtures are wonderful and the water was hot.
9.) The hotel must provide honey/jam or jelly with breakfast. I have never been to a hotel that only offered butter for bread and only one type of bread. In a health-conscious world, guests must be provided with a selection of breads (white/brown and whole wheat or rolls/muffins/cressants etc.)
10.) The amount of activities were great. The only real issue is that management didn't announce the items everyday or call the rooms to make sure attendance would be the best. This is a resort so management/marketing/sales must endeavor to keep announcing the times that activities start. e.g. poor attendance at the concert Xmas eve night and the guests didn't even know they didn't have to pay the cover fee. We ony found out at 10pm that we could go to the concert for free. Then the next night, the band wasn't there for Christmas.
=======================================================================
SUGGESTIONS:
1.) The spa needs help. The decor is not the best. There is no music during the massage and the masseuse needs to have her certificate or credentials displayed on the wall inside the salon. (She was very accommodating but the massage room is a closet and it felt like a closet).
2.) The band needed light on the amphitheatre stage. I couldn't see anyone's face. The base player was lazy and leaning against the back wall for half of the concert (which 12 persons attended). the hotel was sold out that evening, so if the front desk had called the rooms or made announcements that the concert was free everyone would have tried to attend even if for 30 minutes. The front desk did not do well to go the extra mile. Communication is everything.
3.) No not allow people to smoke in the rooms. It is a big turn off.
4.) Do not allow guests to smoke in the summer hut (where the restaurant is). There was a man smoking there the first night we got there with his lady friend and all the other tables were either couples who didn't smoke or families who didn't smoke. How ridiculous to not have the NO SMOKING SIGNS IN THE RESTAURANT. 2nd hand smoke kills faster than first hand smoke. check the research please.
5.) The word on your website says dinning. It is dining. Please change it. You have it on your website twice.
6.) The packages are difficult to understand. We were supposed to get a free golf lesson over the Christmas vacation but we never saw the instructor. He went to town they (at the front desk said he would be back in 15 minutes, I waited in the gym for over 1 hour) he never came back. The sad part is, my daughter didn't get to swim that day because we were waiting for the golf lesson and finally they said he will teach me the following day and that also never happened!!!!!
7.) There is a foul smell from the pool side down to the tennis court. Please find the stench and fix it. The pool is close to the restaurant so if you are eating you don't want to smell the sewage system. There is a problem there and we smelled it for 3 days.
8.) The wait staff need more training to deal with guests. Some folks were working for 4 days and some for 4 months. Nothing consistent. Train them well. Most of them didn't have a clue especially when we ran out of food on Tuesday our last day.
9.) Always offer dessert if you are doing a Noel lunch buffet for Christmas. The dessert never came and this created a billing problem. The lunch said dessert and the charge of 25.00ghs was the same. if you didn't service dessert the price should have been 20 or 22ghs
10.) The husbands loved the resort. They only wished the sides of the tennis court was higher. We kept losing the balls because the children wanted to learn but the balls kept going outside. Please raise the fence on the sides.

Thank you.

Room Tip: just go for the executive and invite another great family to go with you.
