We stayed at the Cedars Inn for a wedding in September 2012.
The main building and surrounding grounds are nice and well presented.
The receptionist allowed us to check in a little early which was extremely helpful given that we were there for a wedding at midday.
The rooms are in an outside block, seperate from the main building.
Our room was ok given we were just there to get ready and crash after the party but it did have an odd smell, was dark (even with all the lights on I could barely see to put make up on), dusty in places and cold.
I feel I can't really comment much on the wedding itself as it was the couples choice and I don't know the details. I will say the garden area was nice, the room was lovely (though this was most likely down the brides artistic skills and attention to detail) but in all honesty the food was quite bland.
When we returned to the room that night it was so, so cold!
The main bed and duvet were comfortable and the TV had freeview channels so the children were kept entertained. Unfortunately I had a terrible nights sleep because you can hear every single word said and movement made in the room above, especially the creaky floor.
My children slept through it all but my partner and I were woken.
The rest of our party slept better, though they were on top floors so this may be why.
The next morning we had breakfast in the main building (included in the price) which was great. A wide range of choice and all very nice. You could have as much as you wanted and the room was lovely too.
All the staff were polite but I'd say customer service was average.
Checking out was straight forward although the next day a few of our party noticed they had been charged twice (lucky they checked!) I'm sure this was a one off mistake and I believe they were refunded with no stress or fuss.
Overall, as far as the rooms are concerned you get what you pay for (it is an excellent price..)
They could improve things by looking in to lighting and heating in the rooms. Though in all honesty, the block would need completely re doing for me to consider staying there for any longer than an essential overnight stay.
If I were local I would definitely visit this property for lunch/drinks on a lazy, sunny weekend with my partner and children.
