“Wedding Venue 26th October 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

We had our wedding here on 26th October and all the way through have been treated very well. Starting with Kevin our wedding planner who was always friendly, helpful and efficient. A room was made available early for me so I could get ready with my family.
It was lovely to have the ceremony in such nice surroundings and we were lucky with the weather so we could make the most of the beautiful gardens to have photos taken. The food and service were excellent - even my 82 year old mum couldnt find fault and trust me, she would if she could!!!!!
The evening buffet was also very good.
I would like to thank everyone involved on the day, the waitress's & Ryan who was behind the bar in the evening were very friendly and helpful.
Thank you very much to everyone involved, especially Kevin, who helped make it a special day for us and our families.

We enjoyed a very pleasant overnight stay.

The accomodation is seperate to the building and is accesssed by a covered walkway.
Our room was on the first floor and was pleasantly decorated, clean and cosy.

The staff were all very pleasant and the meals good.

We arrived on the 1st nov for our friends wedding reception we were offerd drinks on arrival which i wore due to a acciedent but was offerd a hanky to clean my suit no offer of dry cleaning. We were sat at our tables half hour before our food was even ready so the groom was forced to start the speaches while we waited, the food that arrived was awful,it was reaheated microwave meals style which you would not expect at a wedding!! after the food we were asked to exit the dinning room while they set up the disco which took 4 hours and as we were a wedding party we were not aloud in the main part of the venue so we sat like cattle waiting for a dj and barman that was never there.later on the buffet was due to arrive but never in my life have i seen a buffet being brought out by chefs not even in chef whites but in filthy tshirts and tracksuit bottoms with their headphones still in.our overall experience of cedars was not a good one and we will not be returning and anyone thinking of a wedding recepition i would not reccomend it at all!!!!!

Bride and chief bridesmaid stayed evening before the wedding, as did many guests who had travelled from Gloucestershire. We were all made to feel very welcome by the restaurant staff, who were aware of our wedding the next day and their enthusiasm helped build our excitement. The food in the restaurant was great and the rooms were comfortable and spotless.

Cedars was a fantastic venue for our wedding. The food was excellent and the grounds were a beautiful backdrop for our photographs.

Stayed 26th october 2012 for a wedding.
We arrived early int he moring with the bride and very kindly they had arranged a room to be cleaned and to be ready so us and the bride could get ready. The room was spotless. Couldnt fault the rooms at all.

All staff were brilliant all throughtout the day of the wedding and right through to the evening. and were very friendly helpful and good fun. Everyone had a fantastic day which was made special by the cedars inn.

The food they seved for the wedding breakfast was faultless. Was so tasty i wanted more! and the buffet they provided in the eveninghad a big selection to choose from.

After having a brilliant day/night a good English fry up was well needed. There was a good selection for breakfast, from muffins to fruit salad to a range of cooked breakfasts. a variety of fruit juices and tea/coffee was available.

The location of the inn is perfect. Not far from the beach and very close to town to do a bit of shopping.

I had a brillant weekend and i am going to book a weekend away for my partners birthday as we both had a fantatic time.

The ONLY thing i will bring up is that they closed the bar at 12 o'clock but i wouldn't say its a bad thing!!

Thank you very much to cedars for making the day a very special day

We will be returning from room 4!!

This hotel is rated 4 star, but I have stayed in better 2 star hotels. On arrival, reception was not sure if our room had been made up: "If it's not made up, just come back and tell us!" It was quite difficut to gain access to the room, since the corridor light was not working. On asking where the switch was, we were told that it was "automatic". Then the main light in the room was not working; it flashed constantly, and was so annoying that we had to switch it off, making the room quite dark. The maintenance man did come to fix the lights - just as we were leaving the following morning!
The bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night, but the floor of the room above creaked so, once its occupant got up (at 6.30), we could not sleep. The tiling in the bathroom had seen better days - I would have expected a higher standard in a 4 star hotel, and the bathroom door hit the toilet when you opened it!
There was a good selection for breakfast, and the cooked breakfasts and fruit juice were nice, but the coffee was awful - I think that it had been heated for so long that it had lost its taste. Also, the furniture in the restaurant was decidedly jaded - the chairs looked rather battered.
I'm not sure that I would return here, since I am sure that there are better hotels in the area.

Room Tip: Choose an upstairs room, with no-one above you to wake you up when they move around!

Found the hotel and the rooms very clean and tidy, great location, however the service did not match our expectations, nearly an hour waiting for our meal on the Thursday evening, and although the service was a bit better on the Friday, (for a wedding reception) the meal was cold,
Saturday breakfast nothing to write home about either, we heard a couple of tables comment on their meals as well.
Such a shame, come on guys !!! Pick it up !! you can have something very good there and with a bit of hard work you’ll have something and somewhere special.
