“Should not be missed”

This place is just awesome for sunset viewing. The views are simply breathtaking. Set aside 1-2 hrs at this place as there are alot of nice stalls selling stuff which are pretty reasonable.

“bali unique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

It's been many times I visit this place and it wonders me everytime. The main attraction is the temple right on the beach, but the sunset is as beautiful as well. It's just 45min to 1 hour from Kuta/Denpasar/Airport.

“Lovely but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

... It's a shame that you cannot go up into it and have an up close and personal look, but you can have a nice walk along the cliffs and see other little temples near it. So it gives you a little bit to look at.

“Go for the markets!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

In Bali I shopped at Ubud markets, Sukawati, Kuta and Tanah Lot. My 1st choice is Tanah Lot.

The markets line the street on the walk down to the temple. The range is fantastic - clothing, wood work, toys, jewellery, gifts - there is nothing we couldn't find. And the shop owners were NOT PUSHY! Not at all - it was the only place in Bali we weren't hounded to buy! Generally their prices seemed quite good, and you could still haggle with them. Also, being next to the ocean it was cooler than other markets.

For clothing, there's a "supermarket" about 3/4 of the way down to the temple on the left side of the street. Their marked prices were just a bit lower than we could ever haggle at other markets (Long dresses AU$4-6 RP40,000-60,000, Tshirts AU$3-5 RP30,000-50,000)

The temple itself is only OK. You can't get close to it - but being on the beach is nice and it's definitely a beautiful place. Our kids enjoyed looking in the rock pools at the fish and crabs.
