This was a pretty expensive excursion, but well worth it. For reference this tour is the "KS 16 King crab safari by riverboat to the Russian borderline, with King crab meal".
We went on this tour during July. It was about 3 hours long. They provide warm weather clothing, life jackets and rain ponchos (if needed). Once we left the docks Hans stopped at two crab cages and pulled out 20 crabs for all of us. On the way to the Russian border Hans expertly prepared the crabs for cooking while also being a great tour guide, giving the tour in 4 different languages: English, French, German and Russian.
Once we got to the border they have a very nice picnic area setup where they steam the crab and tables for us to feast on. At first we though that 20 crabs wouldn't be enough for us, but even though we enjoy eating crabs and these were delicious, we couldn't finish it all. In addition to the delicious crabs, they provided white wine and dessert (cloud berries with cream).
Even though this was expensive, it was a fantastic experience and the highlight of our trip. Many thanks to Hans and his team.
