We had been to Tavira beach and lots of other beaches along the algarve coast. This was my favourite. The red rocks against the white sandy beach made for an amazing sight - we could not stop looking at them. It was almost deserted when we were there but I am sure it is busy in the summer. Gorgeous place.
Have cycled along the top of the cliffs at Falesia beach for years and I am always amazed at the dazzling red cliffs, clean expanse of fine sand and the crystal clear ocean. Falesia beach is a real gem stretching from Vilamoura to Olhos d’Agua.
The cliff beach is one of my favorites, since it's not overcrowded with tourists. It's spacious enough so that you don't feel squeezed between screaming kids and lobster skin colored tourists.
The views are amazing, with no buildings or buzzy cars around.
I think this is one of the top beaches down south.
Found this beach by mistake - just having a drive around the area one day and saw a sign for the beach so thought lets have a look - so glad we did! We arrived just as the sun was setting and wow! so beautiful - the red sunset reflecting off the red of the cliffs was just stunning. We were there in January so was absolutely empty and café was shut but will definitely return in warmer weather.
Walked along the top of the cliffs on our outward route, back along the sand on the return leg. Stunning red cliffs, clean sand and blue sea. Could do with some of the facilities (ie WCs) being open in the winter, it's a 6 mile walk from Vilamoura to the next loo westwards(!) but we almost had the beach to ourselves in the January sunshine. So relaxing. Loved it
