Bigger than it looks, this Roman Villa offers a great view of Roman times and the part the Romans played in the history of the area. We were greeted on arrival by one of the archaeologists, and could see into the lab where they were still analysing finds from the site. The ruins are well mapped out in the free leaflet and include mosaics and hypercausts, amongst the villa buildings. The museum is quite small but houses many artefacts, many of them lovingly restored. Good value at 3 euros per adult.

Extensive floor plans with mosaics and even a swimming pool. There was an olive press and it used to be a port. The signs had good pictures to help you understand what it was like in all its glory

My husband was not in the least bit interested in visiting this attraction but I have always had a serious interest in this kind of attraction so I dragged him in and was very surprised to find that i could not drag him out after we had walked around. I love to imagine being there in the Roman times and have studied their way of life so found all these ruins fascinating.
the cost was only 3 euros each and was great value for money. They also have a small museum you can look around and this displays the artifacts that they have found.
A great treat for all the family to learn ancient history.

We had been given the name of this restaurant in our hotel recommended by front desk staff. We didn't exactly know where it was, however, as we walked along the port one of my friends asked a guy where it was located, he turned out to be the chef there. It is up a stairs in the marina/port. It's worth a visit as it is typical portugeuse food. We had lovely fish type stew.
