Very beautiful course. One of the gems in the Algarve. Played with fellow friends. Price wise, above average but therefore the good greens, clubhouse and service. Good deals for buggy and clubs. Nice atmosphere. Dont miss out on this one!
Have played here several times over the years and its always good.
It's a tough and demanding layout, but always in good nick.
We played mid Feb '13, and although wet underfoot it was still in good shape.
Staff are helpful and friendly.
You generally need to show h/c Certs.
It's not cheap, but it is the best in VM.
A great course that was in first class condition when we played it on the 2nd Feb 2013. A demanding and yet rewarding course that brings out the best in your golf. A must for anyone playing in Vilamoura
Great golf course! - you just can't this this sort of service in the UK! - Pleasant staff, great manicured course, every hole a challenge and different characteristics, tidy course, buffet bar on course, lovely views..... check it out yourself - careful - you will be hooked on Vilamoura.
I have been going to the Algarve since 1979 and have played the Old Course many many times.
The condition in November was little short of disgraceful. No reduction for green fees even though it was very wet and buggies were not allowed.
One very good point was the Pro shop staff, they were great and could not do enough for you.
The course needs some TLC and I get annoyed at 5 hour rounds and being told to play of the front tees despite playing off scratch! At 110 euros I would rather play " lesser" courses and resent being asked to pay 50 euros for a buggy.
The Algarve needs to look at the green fee rates if it wants us Brits to keep going back.
