“Peaceful & relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

If your looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday in the algarve than I can recommend these apartments. They are located about a 25 min walk from vilamoura centre and early morning or late evening this walk is really doable, we have an 8 year old and she didn't moan with the walk! The apartment we had was located around the pool and you have your own patio area with sunbeds. We did go in the lat week of may and the pool was never busy. I'm surevitvgets slightly busier in the summer holidays. The apartments are very nice, we paid for a delux villa but it seems that a lot of people there got upgraded to a delux as it was quiet. So I'm not sure it was worth paying or just chance your luck when its quiet. We didn't see a standard villa so I couldn't tell you if the delux was any better but we were happy with the accommodation We had.
The only negative was we had no oven! And there is only so much you can cook on the hob.
We decided against hiring a car but got bikes for a day which was really good there is a great red route cycle path that is really safe, if we had have been there longer we would have probably got the bikes for longer as its really good to get in and out of town. We Went with the bike company that they recommend and the bikes are dropped off at 8 am and collected the following day at 11am. They were not the cheapest but it is convenient and we had a problem with one of the bikes whilst we were having lunch at the marina and they came straight away and swapped it over.
The lady on the desk is really helpful and gives you maps etc there is also wifi in the reception area.
Vilamoura marina is very over priced so if you are looking for a cheap holiday I wouldn't recommend vilamoura. Although if you stick to eating in the apartments you will be fine.
Although we had a great time here I probably wouldn't go back to vilamoura, but I couldn't fault the accommodation that was really nice. Vilamoura is too commercialised for us we would prefer to see a bit more of the real algarve.
Helpful tips: pre book car hire or your resort transfer online before you travel. Our taxi cost £28 with resorthopper.com
Taxi to or from the centre should be no more than 5euro each way.
Be warned The sea in may june is very cold!
The supermarkets will call you a taxi if you do your shopping there this is a little more expensive but more convenient than walking in the sun with your shopping to the taxi rank.
If its windy and doesnt feel to hot don't make the mistake of not putting on sun lotion... You will still burn.
The 2 beaches in vilamoura are separated by the marina the beach to the right is a very long walk if you don't have a car. I would recommend the beach to the left hand side (down tivoli avenue) don't buy food on the beach it's a major rip off.
If you travel in the quieter months there may not always be other children at this complex.

All in all I would stay at this accommodation again just a shame it's in vilamoura.

Room Tip: If you have children get a room overlooking the pool, also if you like the sunnasknfor a villa on th...

Stayed for 7 nights in de luxe villa, was offered an upgrade as quieter season and was not dissapointed. So peaceful, spacious and very clean. Simply done, reminded me of 70s style with slight Italian twist, with large dresser in sitting/dining area all decked out with crockery, glasses etc. This area was very spacious, (double height ceiling) with a spiral staircase leading up to bedrooms. Downstairs had a well equipped seperate kitchen, that included fridge/freezer, washing machine, diswasher, microwave with grill and oven built in, and 4 gas rings (no oven). Really well equipped with utensils, dishes, absolutely everything you need. Towels supplied, bring your own shampoo!.downstairs toilet and lovely terrace area through large patio door overlooking pool and beautiful gardens. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one double bed with en suite, and 2 single beds in second room. Airconditioning in all rooms, with balcony off main bedroom. upstairs seperate shower room. There is an unusual void space ( small room) upstairs, there is no door or window, but they have inserted a double bed settee in there which would be useful if there were 6 people, probably good for older children (not small) due to close proximity to spiral staircase. There is a bus stop nearby, we didnt use it as had a car and there is taxi svce, approx €5.00 each way to Marina. The walk would be pretty long in the heat. A car would be recommended, plus a gps system...Traffic was pretty quiet so no difficulties getting around. Mouragolf village was absolutely lovely, so peaceful and comfortable was sad to be leaving, it had a lovely feeling about it and was very private.

Room Tip: You wont regret getting a villa overlooking the pool as really close and on same level, no carrying...

We stayed here for one night before our flight from Faro airport. We had stayed in Albufiera for 7 days previous to this. We chose Mouragolf Village as we wanted to see Vilamoura (a 3 minute drive -5 euro taxi away and wanted to be nearer Faro Airport for our early morning flight. We got 2 two bedroom villas for 8 people but honestly , each two bedroom villa could sleep 6. In fact as it was out last night , we all bunked in together in the one villa.

Alot of the villas seem to be occupied by long stay guests. We stayed in 6A and 7A which looked out over the main pool. Each villa has its' own little veranda/terrace with table and chairs and sunloungers. The receptionist was lovely and more than helpful. WIFI is available at the reception area.

THE VILLA : The living area in the villa was very big with 2 sofas, a dining table , fireplace and TV (sky news, some English cable channels) The kitchen was well equipped with all amenities, dishwasher, fridge freezer , microwave, hob/oven , dishware etc. There is a bathroom downstairs with toilet/handbasin.There were 2 bedrooms upstairs (spiral staircase) and open plan balcony looking down onto the living area. One room came with an en suite and then there was a main bathroom in the hall. Also there was a little area another bed and pullout bed underneath.
Our stay was a brief one but would consider staying longer term in Mouragolf. It's around 20 minutes walk from Vilamoura marina however there is a bus stop around 200 yards from the main reception. Our stay was excellent value for money with each villa costing €68 (October prices from booking.com)

We stayed for 9 nights in two poolside villas. Having read previous write ups on Trip Advisor we were aware the villas were due an update but booked anyway as we got them for a good price. We were allocated villas separated by one undergoing renovation. Although we both paid the same price for each villla one was standard and the other deluxe (updated). We felt being poolside was compensation enough for the minor disruption the building work caused. We assume the renovations will be complete by the start of the main season. We arrived close to midnight, the hotel directions were OK but there was no visible sign from the way we approached the entrance. We rang ahead to say we would be late and the security guard waited with our keys. In the standard villa the kitchen and bathrooms were dated but usable, in the deluxe they are laid out much better. The reception staff were very helpful, maid service was more often than advertised and the pool/gardens were spotless. There is a minimarket within 10 mins stroll (out of entrance turn right, then left at next junction) where you can buy fresh croissant and bread (open 8.30 - 8.30 when we visited). Overall we had a great time at Mouragolf, having the pool just a few steps from the door, never too busy. A short distance from Oceanica Victoria, backing onto the Old Course. 5 mins drive to marina, 5 euros taxi ride - we didn't walk it as the temperature was still in 20s in the evening.

We stayed for two weeks. Were the best vacation we've ever had with the children. The pool of the resort is excellent and people very friendly. We found the villa in Vilamoura at it from their website http://www.mouragolf.com and fall in love with. The golf, beaches, and the best restaurants. I strongly recommend. They advised on local dream. The Algarve is a beautiful place. Thanks to all staff and Mouragolf the wonderful moments ... Dream vacation

Nice small villa right next to the old course golf field. Very well equiped and with a nice garden and swimming pool. Lovely ambience, ideal for families with young children. Friendly staff. The only down point was that it was expensive.
