“great location, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

This is a very good hotel mainly due to the location, the pool area and the staff. On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by friendly staff, our room wasn't ready as it was quite early so we went to the beach for two hours which is directly in front of the hotel. There is a really nice cafe there where you can have tasty snacks and sit and watch everyone on the beach go by. We got a sea/marina view room on the top floor, room 1022. The rooms are basic but comfortable. I would recommend a top floor room as it can be a little noisy outside in the morning time as there is a nightclub which goes on until about 6am nearby - the music isn't much of an issue, more the people coming out afterwards. The hotel is a 5 min walk to the marina which is great at night with lovely restaurants. There are also shops nearby. The staff in the hotel are great, we were actually on a short honeymoon break and there was a bottle of champagne delivered to our room the day we arrived courtesy of the hotel. The pool area is great with plenty of beds - no need to get up at 7am or anything...we were guaranteed a decent bed with a parasol if we went down at 10am. There is also some decent snacks at the pool bar and there is good selection for the buffet breakfasts and lunches in the restaurant - we didn't have dinner there so can't comment. All in all we were delighted with the hotel, the only negative being the noise.

Room Tip: rooms with a balcony and a high floor

Our second visit. The hotel is well situated for access to the beach and the marina. Unfortunately as other reviewers have documented there is a noise problem due to the Seven nightclub based at Tivoli and the seasonal opening of the Puro Beach nightclub adjacent to the Tivoli. Put it this way, we were situated at the far end of the hotel away from the Tivoli and Purobeach and it was still extremely loud, especially so at weekends. Worse still though the drunken revellers singing, shouting, spewing and urinating in the road that runs past the hotel - at 6.30am!! Not great when staying in a family orientated hotel/resort.

The hotel itself - very nice communal areas, reception, bar, shops etc, and recently refurbished spa and indoor pool area. Breakfast was excellent and very quiet until 9am onwards. Didn't try evening meal (bad reports). Pool areas are a bit dated but our little girl loved the children's pool area. Always plenty of sunbeds to go around you don't need to reserve them. Prices for snacks/drinks extortionate as you expect - £3 for a can of coke! Staff a real mixed bag - some lovely and welcoming (like the lovely young lady who greated us at restaurant for breakfast). Others looked like they would rather be on the moon!! I'll leave you to decide who they are.

We were upgraded to a senior suite which was great (two ensuite bedrooms on top floor, lounge, kitchen, diner, bathroom and balcony on lower floor) but it wasn't suitable for a little toddler - this was due to steps and stairs which were very open at the top. Would be great for couples or families with older children though. One downside though is that the bedroom with the balcony faces the Purobeach nightclub!! If you have problems with rooms persist with reception; it takes agesa but they get there eventually.

All in all a good hotel and facilities which needs to be upgraded in some areas - TRIPLE GLAZING! To be fair I understand that they're in talks with the authorities over the noise/drunks which sadly affect the school holiday season.

Room Tip: As far away from the Puro beach/Tivoli as possible!

I returned to this hotel having stayed and reviewed 2 years ago. The hotel is maintained to a high standard. The rooms are very good, efficiently cleaned every day and are quite spacious. the bar, foyer and restaurant areas are relaxing, clean and cool. Outside there are plenty of sunbeds and I found no problems having a swim if avoiding times when children's activities were on. The location is excellent - beside the beach and an excellent beach bar and restaurant.
The downsides were the queues at reception when checking in and the lack of effort by the laid back staff at the poolside bar.

The is my second time at this hotel and would definitely recommend it, the location is great, right on the beach and close to all in the evenings. Its much quicker to walk back from the marina on the road than round the beach road. There is now a nightclub opposite in the grounds of the Tivoli hotel but I must say the only noise we ever heard was a drunk at about 8am outside, where he had come from wasn't sure, never heard a thing from either side, we faced the casino and once door shut all noise was held out. Nice swimming pool area with bar and a nice breeze if sat up higher. The resort is great but fairly expensive, don't think this is a cheap resort as its not, 30 euros for 2 beds on the beach, but its lovely.

Upgrade to a seaview if possible with a balcony and a lot or rooms face the road with no balconies, we had one of these but they changed us for one with a balcony when asked as the hotel was not full. We only had bed and breakfast and the breakfast we fine, lots of choice and was a nice area to eat in.

Never used the bar in evenings as nobody ever in there, probably too expensive or the areas around the marina are so good with great atmospheres too.

Will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Have sea view if possible

When we arrived and to our surprise, two members of staff explained that the evening meal was included, when we had eaten our first evening meal, we were informed we had to pay for it! Initially they denied saying it was included but after a long embarrassing conversation agreed to waive the cost. And the room staff left our clean towels in the Bidet every day...

Stayed at this hotel 3 years ago and was looking forward to returning. Booked 7 nights with Jet 2 holidays, paid the supplement for a sea view the same as last time. When we got to our room after a 3 hour wait we found it to be much smaller than the one we'd had before, with only a side sea view facing the road and the dreaded Puro Beach Nightclub!! that we'd read about on reviews before we came away, Went straight back to reception and demanded another room, eventually we were given one with full sea view around the other side of the hotel. This was a little quieter but we still got the revellers passing by as other people have already mentioned .On our last morning we had an early start and saw 2 men relieving themselves in the sand dunes and one passed out on the ground, not really the lasting impression you want to take home with you!! .When we checked out we were told we owed 33 euros for water from the 'mini bar' we'd had about 6 small bottles as we thought it was complimentary and there was nothing to say otherwise We refused to pay and told them it would be a small compensation for so many disturbed nights. It was our first holiday abroad with our little 20 month old granddaughter, she loved the children's pool and enjoyed every minute, thank goodness she was so tired by the end of the day she was oblivious to the racket outside. Would not stay here again at this time of year. Really enjoyed the resort and had some lovely meals around the marina in the evening all very child friendly.

Room Tip: Superior sea view higher floor

Just returned home from our holiday and like other reviews cannot fault the location of this hotel being right on the sea front, BUT and it's a big BUT, you have a Nightclub on one side and a Casino on the other which means very loud music and extremely noisy revellers. The worst was yet to come when they all piled out to go home which was around 5.30 am to 7.30 am the chanting, screaming and honking of car horns was unbearable. After three nights of this we complained to the manager and was told that unfortunately nothing could be done about the situation. We also heard other guests complaining about the noise and some were glad they had only booked for a week. The food although plentiful was cold on many occasions while some might be happy with that we were not after all you are paying for the comfort of a 4 star hotel and you expect food to be hot! All in all we made the best of a holiday that we had been looking forward to but we will never return to this hotel or resort again.
