My boyfriend and i have just returned from our 1 week stay @ the Old Village,we had a wonderful time,we found the Old Village very clean and the whole complex very spacious and comfortable.
Ther were some rather loud drunk middle age men who kept us awake one night with there singing! im sure there would of been some complaints the next day as it is a quiet family complex not really suitable for groups of men.
As other travellers have said before it was an approx 10 min walk to the marina were lots of really good restaurants and bars could be found( some quite varying in price, but your on holiday so who cares)
We did do a day trip to Albufira,( excuse spelling) but didnt like it,to busy for our liking.
On the whole a really good holiday,If we were to go back would definitly stay at the Old Village again.

this was our eighth year going back there and the seventh in the same apartment.
we originally started going as just the five of us but more and more of our friends loved the place and so we ended up with over twenty of us going
it is fantastic
you only wouldnt like it if you're a naff tourist or someone who finds fault in Eden

Booked direct with Nova Algarve and saved a fortune in the process. Don't book through travel agents!!!!!!

The apartments we were allocated were small but very well equipped ( as a result of these properties being privately owned).
Our 2 bed apartment had a microwave, washing machine, oven and large freezer. Ideal for those with a young family.

The gardens around the apartments were beautiful (sometimes spolied by youngsters kicking a ball about......but thats what you get for going during half term holidays).

There are 3 swimming pools, but you only get access to 2 unless you are in a condominium, then you get to use the very small 3rd pool.
The pools is where the review turns sour i'm afraid. It costs 1.5 Euros to rent a sunbed by the pool for half a day. Therefore for the average family of 2 adults and two children that would be 12 euros per day. It soon adds up to a costly spend.
The other problem with the pool was the swipe card system. You need a card to open a large steel sliding door. On one frightening occasion we almost got our childs buggy caught when the door was closing. The staff member who witnessed the incident smiled and shrugged this incident off, not very helpful at all.

Theres a 15 minute walk to the marina from these apartments

Booked apartment through Premier Direct - [--], lovely apt beside pool, apt very well equipped and clean, nice restaurants on complex and a very well stocked supermarket. Swimming pools and gardens are kept immaculate. The area around the apartments is nice and quiet and its only 10-15 min walk into the marina. Will go back to the old village!
